On Friday's SmackDown, some major names made their way back to WWE. Highlighted by the many returns was the Celtic Warrior Sheamus.

A number of returns were crammed into SmackDown on Friday. First was Sheamus, who appears to be ready to make a return after a career-threatening injury made it questionable he'd ever come back. He promised during a backstage promo to toughen up SmackDown's roster which had become weak.

Second, Alexa Bliss came down to the ring to make a save for her friend Nikki Cross who was being double-teamed by Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville after Cross had defeated Sonya in a one-on-one match.

Finally, Elias made a surprise return during a backstage segment where Drake Maverick was trying to steal a kiss from Dana Brooke. He poked fun at Maverick and sang a song to Brooke's delight.

While none of the returns got a ton of time on television, all are pretty big returns for WWE as every one of the previously-named talents are former champions or soon-to-be champs in the form of Elias.

As for Sheamus, it doesn't look like he'll be returning and teaming with Cesaro who was part of the main event match alongside Shinsuke Nakamura as they battled for the WWE SmackDown tag team championships.

Sheamus To Be a Heel

It appears Sheamus will essentially start from square one on SmackDown as he takes aim at Superstars he called "misfits and cowards." Kind of like Drew McIntyre, Sheamus claimed no one was hungry and he intended to show everyone what someone who is hungry can do.

That doesn't sound like a babyface character, but more someone who plans on doing some major damage to the rest of the roster.

All we can say is, 'Welcome back to everyone.'
