SmackDown Draws Lowest Rating Since Brand Split

Vince McMahon and the WWE tried to deal with a decline in ratings by introducing SmackDown Live on Tuesday nights to compete with Monday Night Raw. However, it appears as though having Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as Commissioner and General Manager, respectively, aren't enough to entice people to watch.

According to Nick Paglino from WrestleZone.com, this week's edition of SmackDown only had 2.127 million viewers. Paglino said that's the lowest rating since SmackDown moved to Tuesday on the 19th of July.

As Paglino pointed out, WWE did have competition with the NBA regular season kicking off plus Game 1 of the World Series taking place on Tuesday. Still, this is a sign that fans aren't intrigued enough to watch WWE on consecutive nights.

Hey, maybe that John Cena heel turn should happen. That would surely spike the ratings, no?
