Taking a look at Friday's episode of SmackDown, we'll examine the winners and losers from the show, focusing, in part, on two stars who just 'get it.'

Friday's show was another one from the empty WWE Performance Center and while it's posing challenges for the company, the first signs that Superstars were starting to understand how to make the most of a bad situation started to show through. That said, there were a couple of segments that weren't strong and you could tell not having a crowd really hurt.

Here are your winners and losers from SmackDown on Friday:

Winner: Rob Gronkowski

There will certainly be limitations to what Rob Gronkowski can do and, in all fairness, this is probably the worst time to be the host of WrestleMania because it will be such an odd show. That said, he did well in his first appearance, bringing energy to the start of the episode and nailing his lines like he's not a rookie.

Outside of not talking to the hard camera during much of his promo, Gronk was entertaining, dancing and kicking the program off right. He seems to have the natural ability to grasp the business well for someone who hasn't been a central part of it before. The more he gets involved, the more he'll seem at ease.

By default, Mojo Rawley was also a huge winner here because he's getting a massive opportunity with his best friend now part of the WWE. Mojo is bound to see more screen time in the next few weeks than he has all year.

Loser: The Women's Six-Pack Challenge Match

It was officially announced by the returning Paige that Bayley will now have to defend her SmackDown Women's Championship in a six-pack challenge match at WrestleMania 36. The idea of getting Bayley and Sasha Banks in the ring together, in what will undoubtedly be the start of friction between the two, is a neat idea. But, why all the other competitors?

Lacey Evans and Naomi make sense. But Tamina? Dana Brooke? No offense to either, but no time has been invested in creating a storyline where their involvement here makes sense. Neither should be up for a title shot at this point and in a time where the more people in one match creates issues for WWE in terms of CDC regulations, the extra bodies seem unnecessary.

Winner: Miz and Morisson Dirt Sheet Segment

Not everyone is going to love this segment, but they should. The Miz and John Morrison — and to a lesser extent New Day, Heavy Machinery and the Usos —were on fire when The Awesome One & The Guru of Greatness decided to impersonate the fans of their blue brand challengers.

This is how you use an empty arena to your advantage and it hearkens back to when The Miz and Maryse impersonated John Cena and Nikki Bella and the shtick went over huge. Miz took the lead here and was hilarious but give credit where credit is due to Morrison; his timing was excellent.

Sometimes, the best ideas come out of necessity. This could be one of those times and these two work extremely well together.

Loser: Goldberg and Reigns Contract Signing

WWE did a good job of letting Roman talk freely last week on SmackDown. This contract signing between he and Goldberg was a lot less of that and more of the same old' WWE stuff that makes little sense. The lack of promo between the two shows a relative lack of history between these two competitors.

This is what you get when you simply put two guys in the ring and they have no background story. Michael Cole actually had to reference a tweet about Roman protecting his fist when he slams it down as part of his entrance. In that tweet, Roman poked fun at Goldberg and his steel door headbutt as if that was supposed to have some deep meaning. It was a stretch, at best.

All Goldberg could say in response was, "Listen punk. I've been destroying steel doors all across the world for years with that headbutt. And come WrestleMania, you're going to be the next victim."

So that's the story WWE is running with... This promo wouldn't have worked in front of a large crowd either.

Winner: Drew Gulak

It's simply enjoyable to watch Drew Gulak being used in a way that makes sense. If you haven't watched the social media videos of Gulak and Daniel Bryan going back-and-forth, with Gulak teaching the basics of wrestling, you should, they are pure gold. You can tell he and Bryan are having fun, while at the same time, they make great opponents for a very vocal Sami Zayn.

This is how Gulak should be used and it's obvious why Bryan chose to work with him. There's certainly something coming for these five at WrestleMania and eventually, I would absolutely be ok with Bryan and Gulak taking a run at Miz and Morrison and holding the tag team titles at some point.
