'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is widely regarded as the greatest competitor in WWE history, so when The Texas Rattlesnake speaks, people listen.

Wrestling fans and pundits are always eager to hear what the WWE Hall of Famer has to say when it comes to today's product and superstars. But one of Austin' recent hot takes is sure to cause plenty of debate among the wrestling world.

Austin appeared on the CBS Sports State of Combat podcast and explained that he views Brock Lesnar as the top WWE superstar of the decade, even though the latter has mainly been used in a part-time role.

Stone Cold shared his thoughts on why Lesnar is "the guy," over other elite talents such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins and even Bray Wyatt.

"You dang sure have to put Brock Lesnar on it because I think Brock is the guy. Can you give me another name? With Brock, you can say 'part-time' or this or whatever, but when Brock goes to the ring, I still get a sense of danger or I sense that I don't really know what he is going to do.

How often does he go to Suplex City? How bad did he really hurt somebody? What's he going to do to this opponent or what is he going to to do to dismantle him?

Brock Lesnar creates more questions in my mind than anybody else who has walked into the ring for the last 10 years, no question in my mind..He might not be around as much as many people would like, but as far as impact and pure 'I have to watch this match' factor, it's hard to say a guy other than him."

Austin suggested that Cena, a 16-time World Champion, is also "up there". But despite the latter's near-decade run as the top face of WWE, The Texas Rattlesnake believes Lesnar has set separated himself from the rest of the roster.

Lesnar is unquestionably one of the top main eventers and money draws in WWE history, but the knock against him is the fact that he's only wrestled on a part-time basis for the majority of his second tenure in WWE.

That said, Lesnar has accomplished plenty of remarkable feats during his second run with the company. He ended The Undertaker's perfect WrestleMania streak, and the current WWE Champion also has three Universal Championships on his resume.

Austin Has Some Points, But Lesnar Isn't The Guy

With all due respect to Austin, it's hard to call Lesnar the GOAT when he's wrestled a fraction of the matches compared to WWE superstars. That said, there isn't a consensus pick as to who the top wrestler is of the decade. Legends like Undertaker, Cena and Triple have also moved to part-time roles, while AJ Styles has only been with WWE since 2016. Wrestlers like Wyatt, Reigns and Rollins probably have the strongest cases, but it's a wide open discussion with no firm answer.
