10-year-old Nicholas must be the most popular fourth-grader in the world right now, having won won the Raw Tag Team Championship alongside Braun Strowman on WrestleMania earlier this month, yet Steve Austin does not support the move.

Strowman seemed to randomly pick the kid from the crowd as his tag team partner after being previously ordered to get one by Raw GM Kurt Angle. He would go on to singlehandedly destroy Sheamus and Cesaro A.K.A The Bar to win the title for young Nicholas and himself.

The pair relinquished the belts on Monday Night Raw the following evening, citing the youngster’s academic commitments as the reason. Nicholas was later revealed to be the son of WWE ref John Cone – not just a random kid.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show (H/T Wrestling Inc) The Texas Rattlesnake expressed disappointment with the gig, insisting that it effectively undermined Sheamus and his partner Cesaro.

"Braun Strowman is over like rover, a lot of potential, a lot of momentum, a lot of great storylines for him," he pointed out. "But the fact that he goes out there in the crowd and picks some kid, it's almost like a disservice to Cesaro and Sheamus who've been working their a**es off.

"Two physical specimens, have really gotten some chemistry together as a team. Not to be taken lightly. Braun's a big guy, but you know, Cesaro's one of the strongest guys in the locker room. Sheamus is a brute.

"They can't monetize this person who was picked from the crowd. And, I don't know, I wasn't really down with it, and that's with respect to a d**n good tag team like The Bar. And then Strowman picks someone [from the crowd], I just, man you're walking a fine line with him, because you have this brute force killer who's legitimately one of the biggest, strongest men in the world.

"It didn't do much for me."

While Nicholas' title win did not impress Stone Cold, it seemed to go down well with the audience and just about everyone else. But he does make a great point, although he should be quite used to the WWE's penchant for the ridiculous.
