It's been three months since WWE hired Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff to take over as the new Executive Directors of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, respectively.

Heyman has introduced plenty of big changes to the Raw product, sprinkling in a few elements from the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. We're also seeing new superstar pushes - namely Cedric Alexander, Robert Roode and R-Truth, among others.

There's obviously a lot of work to do in rebuilding Raw as they try to stay find some consistent ratings numbers, all while trying to stay far ahead of AEW in the upcoming wrestling war.

So far, Heyman has displayed that he is capable of handling such a responsible role. His work up to this point has impressed WWE Hall of Famer 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, who explained to Sports Illustrated why he thinks Heyman is perfectly suited to run Raw.

"That is the right guy for the job," Austin said. "Paul E. has a vision of what this business should be. He’s working under the watchful eye of Vince McMahon, but Vince is looking at so many big pictures while Paul is going to focus on this.

"Paul E. is really close to the pulse of the product. He understands where and why the business should be, and how it should feel...There is already more of a sense of urgency and importance of the world title."

Austin knows Heyman better than most, so his opinion is definitely relevant and meaningful here. The two worked together in ECWduring the mid-90s, after Austin was fired from WCW by Bischoff. After one year there, Austin signed with WWE - and the rest is history.

Austin rarely appears on live WWE programming these days, but he's already showed up for two episodes of Raw ever since Heyman was named the new Executive Director. Austin was present for the Raw reunion special on July 22, and he kicked things off at Madison Square Garden for the Sept. 9 episode.

WWE has struggled with television ratings throughout most of 2019, and they've had problems selling tickets on several occasions. It was evident that change was needed for the flagship program, and Heyman has done nothing but deliver big-time results thus far.

Heyman Has Been Raw's Solution

A large portion of the WWE Universe was growing tired of the stale storylines and lack of superstar pushes. Heyman has changed that completely by rebuilding the mid-card and tag team divisions. His work with Alexander, Roode and a repackaged Bray Wyatt has been excellent. The best part? He's only getting started. The best from Heyman has yet to come.
