The Undertaker is by far the greatest all-around Superstar in the history of professional wrestling, and the 53-year-old is closing in on 30 years in WWE alone.

For the most part, the WWE creative team has done a great job trying to maximize the remaining years of his pro career. We got to see some great matches against other future Hall of Famers like Brock Lesnar, Triple H and Shane McMahon, among others. WWE also used The Undertaker to help push younger talents such as Roman Reigns and Rusev.

Now, as The Undertaker's career begins to win down, WWE has to proceed with caution. They need to ensure that the remainder of his feuds and storylines are massive home runs, rather than big-time flops.

The WrestleMania 32 match with Shane McMahon felt like a waste of time, and his two matches with Triple H in late 2018 didn't feel all that special, considering the WrestleMania XXVII was supposed to be the LAST time the ever faced off.

There are only so many more storylines the WWE can run with The Undertaker, and it's safe to assume there are only a few matches left in his legendary career. That puts the pressure on WWE to ensure that the last bit of The Undertaker is exciting, memorable and all-around successful. Otherwise, we fans will be very disappointed and left wondering "What could have been?"

WWe has plenty of great options to consider when it comes to handling the rest of The Undertaker's career. Here are 10 storylines they should run, and 10 that must be avoided at all costs.

20 Could Run: The Undertaker Joins The Wyatt Family

via WWE.com

Bray Wyatt has teased rumors of a reunion between The Wyatt Family, and it only seems like a matter of time until the Big Four get back together. The Undertaker and Kane had a brief rivalry with The Wyatt Family back in 2015, but we're not asking for WWE to pit him against Bray and co. again.

Rather, it'd be epic if The Undertaker joined The Wyatt Family - perhaps in a leader/mentor role. The Godfather of The Wyatt Family. His gimmick would mesh well with them; they're all massive, horror-themed giants that simply brutalize their opponents.

The Undertaker wouldn't even have to wrestle if he joined the group. Imagine giving the perennial babyface a short run as a heel, leading The Wyatt Family as they try to take over WWE yet again? We'd be all in for it.

19 Avoid: A Rekindled Rivalry With Randy Orton

via areawrestling.net

Back in 2004-05, Randy Orton was rising as one of the top young Superstars in WWE. The youngest World Champion in the promotion's history embarked on the 'Legend Killer' gimmick, defeating legend after legend after legend.

Well, he fell short in taking down The Undertaker at WrestleMania 21. But nearly 14 years later, WWE has Orton going up against more wrestling legends. He's already taken down Jeff Hardy multiple times, and it looks like the creative team is preparing Orton to defeat more future Hall of Famers.

I'm fine with that, but please not a rekindled rivalry with Orton. The Undertaker doesn't need to put him over, nor does he need to defeat Orton once again. Let's hope WWE stays far away from this one.

18 Could Run: The Undertaker Vs. Braun Strowman

via wwe.fr

The Monster Among Men has received a giant main event push over the past year and a half now. If they're going to have him squash Kane and Big show, why not give Braun Strowman a feud with The Undertaker?

Strowman's push has been up-and-down, to say the least. Some matches have been terrific, others have been terrible. A lot of his recent feuds were total wastes of time, and it's overdue for him to have a worthwhile opponent for once.

The Undertaker would be just perfect for The Monster Among Men. Similar to the Lesnar-Undertaker rivalry, WWE could have Strowman and The Deadman compete in a best-of-three series, or something along those lines.

Who wouldn't want a feud between two of the most destructive and dominant forces in recent memory?

17 Avoid: Another Hell in a Cell Match

via dailyddt.com

The Undertaker has made Hell in a Cell matches all the more legendary, and some of his finest moments ever have taken place inside the cage. I mean, who will ever forget the time when he threw Mick Foley off the top of a cell 20 years ago? Or when he beat Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII to retain his perfect streak, with Shawn Michaels as the special guest ref?

That being said, it's safe to say that The Undertaker has little reason to compete in an HIAC match ever again. Don't forget the one he had with Brock Lesnar three years ago - which was just a one-sided affair with no real excitement or pace.

The Undertaker is 53 now and has dealt with numerous injuries over the last five years alone. There's no need to force him into another hardcore match, especially since he's not in prime wrestling  condition now.

16 Could Run: The Undertaker Vs. Brother Nero

via netpics.pw

With Matt Hardy injured, a dream match against The Undertaker certainly won't happen in the near future. The good news is that there is another Hardy on the show. Imagine Brother Nero vs. The Undertaker. That's a dream match that could easily be thrown onto the WrestleMania 35 card.

Hardy's current gimmick is on fire right now, and WWE needs to maximize the opportunities for Brother Nero to go up against other future Hall of Famers. Imagine the promos and buildup he and Hardy could run together.

If WWE decides they want 'Taker to specifically go up against fellow wrestling legends, then Hardy should top the list.

15 Avoid: Feud With Kurt Angle

via complex.com

Kurt Angle and The Undertaker did have one of WWE's best ongoing rivalries during the 2000s, and though it'd be cool to see them feud again, the truth is that this match would be downright terrible.

The Olympic gold medalist is capable of putting on somewhat decent matches, but Angle isn't quite the same in-ring wrestler anymore. The soon-to-be 50-year-old admitted that he can't move as much before and has to start easing his workload in the ring.

That is more than enough for us to know that an Angle-Undertaker match would never work again. Both Superstars have to take it more slowly, and much easier in the ring. Why should they even think about going at it again?

14 Could Run: Wrestler's Court

Wrestlers' Court was a practice of taking any wrestler in the wrong to a literal court to debate and argue their case
Some Wrestlers' Court events and happenings need to be heard to be believed

Being the long-time locker room leader in WWE, The Undertaker ran a "Wrestler's Court," backstage. The goal was to have wrestlers work out their real-life beef, and The Deadman would do his job to help rectify the problems.

Now, imagine if WWE ran such a storyline where The Undertaker presided over "feuds" between other Superstars. Other than Miz TV, WWE doesn't really have any of these fun or comical series involving other Superstars.

With 'Taker only wrestling a few matches a year, Wrestler's Court would provide the opportunity for him to appear more frequently on television. And it would be absolutely epic.

13 Avoid: The Undertaker Vs. Goldberg

via hdnicewallpapers.com

Goldberg may have been a huge money draw and main eventer in WCW, but the former professional football player was never a great in-ring performer. It was fine to have him go up against Brock Lesnar twice in his last run, since both were masters of the squash job.

But bringing Goldberg back to feud with The Undertaker should be the last thing on the creative team's mind now. Sure, it would appeal to the old-timer fans, but the quality of the match would be downright terrible.

Goldberg himself didn't look that great facing the likes of Lesnar and Kevin Owens. There is no way he would look good going up against Undertaker. So please stay away from this, WWE.

12 Could Run: The Brothers of Destruction Vs. Young Tag Team

via wwe.com

Remember when Evolution lost that series of matches to The Shield, but it helped but Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins over? WWE should consider reuniting Kane and The Undertaker's historic 'Brothers of Destruction' tag team, where they could feud with one of today's best duos.

The best possible feud is probably The New Day, since they remain as popular as ever and continue to re-write history. But if WWE wants to stay away, having The Usos go up against Kane and The Undertaker could do wonders. Those two have somewhat struggled to get over with the fans, but things could change if they get a feud with The Brothers of Destruction.

11 Avoid: A Rivalry With The Rock

via complex.com

The Rock is kind enough to come back every now and then and perform big-time matches, having headlined a pair of WrestleManias with John Cena. That being said, a future match between 'Taker and The Rock should never, ever be on the minds of the creative team.

There's just no good storyline to run here between the two Superstars at all. Unlike the Cena-Rock buildup and feud, there's really nothing the People's Champion could run against The Undertaker. Absolutely nothing.

If WWE wanted this match, they could have done it five or 10 years ago. But doing it now simply wouldn't work at all. So don't get your hopes up.

10 Could Run: Bringing Back The Biker Gimmick

via forbes.com

Few WWE legends have been able to reinvent themselves like The Undertaker. Some like to believe that his best gimmick was the Biker look, when he came out with a motorcycle, sunglasses, bandana and leather coat.

It was a complete change from the dark and horror-themed characters he had performed in the past. And we haven't seen the Biker look in almost 20 years now. For nostalgic sake, it'd be awesome to have 'Taker bring back the look one last time.

This isn't to say his character of the past 15 or so years has lost steam and creativity. It hasn't a bit. But the Biker gimmick was extremely popular at the time, and we fans just want to see it in action one more time.

9 Avoid: Winning The Royal Rumble

via sportzmode.com

WWE has an unfortunate history of not booking the Royal Rumble winner correctly these days. Nobody wanted Batista to win it in 2014. Few were happy when Roman Reigns was victorious a year later. Having Triple H win it in 2016? That was the McMahon family at its finest.

Randy Orton in 2017? Meh. Shinsuke Nakamura in 2018? Well, they wasted a potential main event push for him, so we won't be looking back fondly on this year's Rumble, either.

The last thing WWE can do in 2019 or 2020 is give a part-timer the Royal Rumble crown. It makes literally zero sense to have The Undertaker win this event. That would mean winning the title at WrestleMania. And he'd hold it for what? Three months, maybe? No thanks.

8 Could Run: One More 'Buried Alive' Match

via WWE.com

The Undertaker has taken part in every single 'Buried Alive' match in WWE history. Because he made it so legendary, it feels right to give The Deadman one more Buried alive match.

If WWE were to do this, however, they'd have to have The Phenom lose this Buried Alive match. It would be the perfect way to end the 'Deadman' character, and it would put The Undertaker out on top - similar to how Shawn Michaels did at WrestleMaia XXVI.

Having 'Taker win one more Buried Alive match doesn't really do a whole lot to change his legacy. If they used this match stipulation to help put another superstar ever, it would make The Deadman look that much better as a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame awaits.

7 Avoid: Another Feud With John Cena

via stillrealtous.com

After several years of speculation, fans finally got to see The Undertaker and John Cena face off on the Grandest Stage of Them All. But rather than get the dream match of a lifetime, we got a complete squash of a victory for The Phenom at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Seeing how much WWE has prolonged this Undertaker-Triple H rivalry, it wouldn't be that surprising if they gave him one more match with Cena. But really, I think it's safe to say nobody is interested after that yawn fest of a WrestleMania match.

The Undertaker is extremely limited in the ring now, and Cena's primary focus is to help put younger talents over. It doesn't make much sense to pit these two legends against each other again, especially when it just happened  in what was really a lackluster match.

6 Could Run: The Undertaker Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

via wrestletalk.com

Add Shinsuke Nakamura to the list of great Superstars that WWE has misused over the last year and a half. But if the creative team wanted to do it right, they'd put up the former face of NXT up against a major icon like The Undertaker himself.

At this stage of his career, The Undertaker should be used to help put other Superstars over, and Nakamura needs it most. We've seen 'Taker go up against many of the younger Superstars already, but a bout with Nakamura hasn't happened yet.

Maybe WWE decides to push Nakamura back into the main event after all. If they want to keep him on as a heel, then a rivalry with The Undertaker would be perfect. May we suggest a bout at WrestleMania 35?

5 Avoid: Feud With Kane

via GiveMeSport

The Brothers of Destruction reunited at both Survivor Series 2015 and this year's Crown Jewel pay-per-view. Now, it's safe to wonder if the creative team is thinking about pitting The Undertaker vs. Kane down the road.

But with all due respect to this historic rivalry, there's little reason to prolong it. Both men are in their 50s, a lot slower in the ring and wouldn't be capable of putting on a top quality match against each other. It simply wouldn't make for good television.

We've seen Kane vs. The Undertaker more than enough times throughout the last 20 years. WWE shouldn't feel the need to bring it back one more time.

4 Could Run: Mixed Tag Match With Michelle McCool

via Wrestling News

WWE has began putting a bigger emphasis on mixed tag matches. We've seen some great matches at WrestleMania throughout the years, and the Mixed Match Challenge has been a huge success.

TheUndertaker's wife, former Women's Champion Michelle McCool, showed at the Royal Rumble and Evolution that she's still in wrestling shape. If necessary, she'd be capable of wrestling another match.

It'd be awesome for WWE to have the wrestling power couple team up together in a mixed tag match. The ideal opponent and venue? The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania. The latter and McCool enjoyed a rivalry during their days as WWE Divas, while The Miz vs. The Undertaker would make for great television.

3 Avoid: Another Feud With The McMahon Family

via sickchirpse.com

Please, no.

With all due respect to the McMahon family, there's this strong belief inside the company that Shane, Vince, Stephanie and/or Triple H need to be involved in a major storyline every year. It's been like that for two decades now.

It wouldn't be surprising if the McMahons simply decided to pit The Undertaker against one of their own family members again. But oh, we only saw he and Shane face off at WrestleMania two years ago! We saw him and Triple H square off twice in 2018.

There is nothing left for a potential The Undertaker feud with the McMahon family. According to my calculations, there have been 55,000 of them since 1998. We don't need the 55,001st one.

2 Could Run: Putting Finn Balor Over

via youtube.com

There are few big-time WWE talents that need The Undertaker to put them over. The latter did that for Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns already. A.J. Styles, Braun Strowman, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley are doing just fine.

But one superstar who needs the help to get put over? Finn Balor. WWE has completely wasted his talents ever since a shoulder injury forced him to relinquish the Universal Championship two years ago.

Pitting The Demon King's character against The Deadman would make for quite the presentation of characters, and a dream match for the ages. The least 'Taker could do before retirement is put one more superstar over. And Balor seems like the perfect candidate for it.

1 Avoid: Championship Reign

via pinterest.com

With all due respect to the greatest wrestler of all-time, it doesn't make any sense for WWE to put another championship belt around him. But it's totally something they would do, seeing how part-timer Brock Lesnar is enjoying his second Universal Championship reign now.

Seeing how strong Vince McMahon's relationship is with The Undertaker, it wouldn't be a surprise if the WWE chairman felt compelled to give his loyal soldier one more championship reign.

But it simply makes no sense to ask a 53-year-old to carry around a title that would be defended what? About three times a year? This is easily the number one storyline with The Undertaker that must be avoided.
