It was a somewhat subtle turn, but it appears the Kabuki Warriors have gone bad as they used the green mist to steal the Women's Tag Team Titles.

It was a match that wasn't announced ahead of time for fans ready to call all the action of Hell in a Cell on Sunday but WWE slotted a Women's Tag Team Title bout on the card anyways and The Kabuki Warriors walked away the new tag team champions after Asuka sprayed Nikki Cross in the face with a mouthful of green mist. As noted by WWE, "A tribute to The Great Muta, The Empress of Tomorrow followed up with a brutal kick to Nikki’s head for the championship-winning three-count."

Hell in a Cell was full of odd booking decisions. A title change crowning Charlotte the new SmackDown Women's Champion, the non-finish to the Fiend versus Seth Rollins match, this Kabuki Warriors win was unexpected and the heel turn so surprising, many fans weren't completely aware a heel turn had actually happened.

And, it may appear the team has only slightly gone towards the dark light.

In a post-match video, Asuka and Kairi Sane bragged about winning the titles after everyone else had written them off as "too nice". At the same time, they danced and laughed saying they would take on all challengers.

WWE Got This Right

Of all the things fans are saying WWE got wrong on Sunday, this heel turn was long overdue. A team that had been all but forgotten about, The Kabuki Warriors deserved better, specifically Asuka, who does her best work as a heel character.

Will WWE actually send this team full heel? It is expected they'll either be on Raw this Monday or SmackDown on Friday to address their title win and what it means for the team moving forward.
