The general consensus going into this Sunday's Clash Of Champions is that the card is a little lacking. A lot of the matches, such as AJ Styles versus Jinder Mahal and Charlotte Flair against Natalya, are bouts that we have already seen before and the rivalries feel a little exhausted at this point. It's the holidays, the end of the year is upon us, it's hard to blame WWE for not wanting to make this pay-per-view a blockbuster event. Very few of the wrestlers on said card will want to go out there and give the minimum they can get away with however. Despite fans not being hyped for the show, the Superstars on it will want to steal the show and change the WWE Universe's opinion by the end of Clash Of Champions. Here are five stars that will likely try and steal the show on Sunday night.
5. Bobby Roode
This one might seem a little crazy to a lot of people reading this and in all honesty is probably more hopeful than anything else. Bobby Roode arrived on SmackDown Live earlier this year and naturally, the crowd went wild. Ever since that interest and excitement has dwindled and faded because the main roster writers don't seem to know what to do with him. Coincidentally, the stock of the United States Championship has also fallen since being around the waist of Baron Corbin. WWE could kill two birds with one stone and have Roode pull off a great win in the US Title match. Fans would likely go wild for it as Glorious rings out around the arena and Roode is handed the stars and stripes spangled championship.
4. Charlotte Flair
There was a point in 2016 where Charlotte Flair really did feel like an extremely big deal. The rivalry between her and Sasha Banks did so much to further women's wrestling in WWE and it felt like if any female could headline a WrestleMania, it would be Charlotte. Due to her move to SmackDown Live coupled with some personal reasons though, she faded into obscurity a little. Since this current feud with Natalya though, The Queen has been reminding fans exactly what she's capable of. The lumberjack match for her championship will feature the whole of the blue brand's women's roster at Clash Of Champions, and it will be Charlotte shining and standing tall once the dust settles.
3. The Usos and The New Day
One of the hottest rivalries SmackDown Live has provided us this year is the one over the brand's Tag Team Championships between The New Day and The Usos. The two tenured tag teams had a series of matches over the course of the summer that stole whatever show they happened to be battling on. Well on Sunday at Clash Of Champions, that rivalry will be reignited and that's why this entry in the list can't be narrowed down to simply one Superstar. The Tag Team Title match could easily steal the show this weekend and it's because these two teams will be in it. Who knows, maybe the other two teams involved in the action will lift the quality of the match even more.
2. AJ Styles
Let's be honest, whatever show—whether it be a pay-per-view or otherwise—AJ Styles is a part of, The Phenomenal One is probably going to be the Superstar who steals the show. The WWE Champion could have a match with a broomstick and it would likely be the best bout of the night. Not only is Styles one of the best wrestlers of this generation, but he has that innate ability to raise the game of anyone he stands across the ring from. That even goes for Jinder Mahal. Not only will Styles steal the show with an incredible performance, but fans will be excited if and when he wins the match as that will likely signal the end of The Maharajah's inclusion in the World Title scene.
1. Daniel Bryan
Shane McMahon has made it abundantly clear over the past few weeks that he likes SmackDown Live to be all about him. His vendetta against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn has continued to escalate to the point that he is trying to get the two of them fired. Shane will be the special guest referee in their tag team match on Sunday as he aims to get that done, but Daniel Bryan wants the match to be fair so will also be acting as a referee. It's all very confusing, but necessary so that Bryan can be the focal point come Clash Of Champions. Something is going to go down that involves Bryan ensuring Owens and Zayn remain employed by WWE this weekend, and whatever it is it will make him the talking point coming out of the show.
