Everything that is seen on WWE TV is scripted. There have been a number of scripts leaked that prove that the show is always streamed live, but the superstars often rehearse many of their segments ahead of time. Promos are segments of the show that the members of the WWE roster are forced to learn before they perform them, but sometimes even a rehearsed segment can go wrong in front of TV cameras. After all, everyone makes mistakes, and WWE stars have definitely slipped up on more than a few occasions.

As with any show that is presented live, there are a number of things that can go wrong and most of the time they usually do, much to the WWE Universe's amusement. Over the past few years, the rise of Social Media has meant that many of the biggest botches and most embarrassing moments on TV are shared online for the world to see over and over again. The company is no longer able to hide errors since the WWE Universe often find it hilarious to point them out. With youtube more popular than ever, mistakes are uploaded and rewatched constantly all over the world.

The following list looks at some of the most embarrassing moments on WWE TV over the past few years that were reportedly unscripted. This list looks at all the times that WWE stars have botched on the mic or in the ring with hilarious but embarrassing consequences.

15 Braun Strowman Licks Apollo Crews' Head

Ahead of Great Balls of Fire last year, Braun Strowman was in unstoppable form and he was able to prove this in a match against Apollo Crews on Raw. Braun wasn't as popular with the WWE Universe as he is now and refused to pin Apollo even though he knew the match was won. In a strange moment, Braun attempted to pin Apollo following a running power slam before he lifted him up after the two count and then licked his head.

This was completely out of character for Braun and didn't fit in well with the match at all since even the commentary team were shocked by it. Licking opponents is something that Paige become known for in her early career, but it doesn't fit in with WWE current product and Braun hasn't been able to do it to any other opponents since.

14 Vince McMahon Blows His Quads At The Royal Rumble

The 2005 Royal Rumble match became one of the most memorable for all the wrong reasons. Not only did John Cena and Batista somehow manage to both win The Rumble match when they incredibly both landed on the floor outside the ring at the same time, but The Chairman then decided to head out and give the duo a piece of his mind.

Vince was so mad that as he slid into the ring he managed to tear both of his quads which meant that he was then forced to sit in the ring furiously shouting at Cena and Batista until the end of the match was restarted. Batista then won the match after he eliminated Cena following a spine-buster, but Batista's win isn't the reason why this year's Rumble is seen as the most memorable.

13 WWE Forgets To Edit Drake Maverick's Video Package

via youtube.com

Rockstar Spud made his way over to WWE last year when it was revealed that he had become the new General Manager of 205 Live. While the Cruiserweight Division has been boosted over the past few months, the technical team behind the brand made a huge mistake with Drake's video package when they forgot to edit out the fact that Maverick fluffed his lines.

The General Manager was talking to Buddy Murphy about his weigh in at the time and he messed up his lines when he became tongue-tied, stopped and then started all over again. The first part of the video package should have been edited out but the technical team weren't on top of it and allowed it to be broadcast without the edit.

Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon collided back at King of the Ring in 2001 in a street fight and it was definitely McMahon who came out of the match looking the worst for wear. Angle had already wrestled two matches that night before he faced Shane and it's reported that Angle actually performed with a broken tailbone after he landed awkwardly following a suplex.

The match is best remembered for the spot where Angle attempted to put Shane through a glass pane, but the first time he attempted to throw him through, the glass failed to break and Shane landed fully on top of his head. Even though Shane's father Vince then called for the referee to stop the match from backstage, the duo attempted the spot again and this time it worked as the glass shattered and Shane flew though.

via wikimedia.org

It is well-known now that the outcome of all WWE matches are predetermined, this means that when there is a Championship match, the winner is known before the star walks through the curtain. Despite this, sometimes things can go wrong in the ring and the wrong winner can be awarded.

Sheamus faced off against John Cena in a tables match back at TLC in 2009 for the WWE Championship and both Cena and Sheamus were supposed to go through the table at the same time to then leave the match as a draw, but the end of the match went wrong and Cena went through the table alone which meant that Sheamus became Champion. It's likely that he wasn't greeted by clapping when he stepped back through the curtain.

Via Youtube.com

Goldberg returned to WWE back in 2016 for the first time in more than a decade and was able to not only defeat Brock Lesnar in record time, but he then went on to defeat Kevin Owens to become Universal Champion. Goldberg was then entered back into a feud with Lesnar heading into WrestleMania 33 and the duo then had a number of face-offs on Monday Night Raw.

One of these face-offs included Brock Lesnar delivering his patented F5 on the Champion, but when Brock picked him up, he forgot to drop the Championship. He then had to slowly allow it to drop to the ground and Lesnar had to wait for him to place it down before he could deliver the move, which made the entire segment quite awkward.

9 Prince Nevitt Or Devitt

Via givemesport.com

The Miz's feud with Finn Balor and Seth Rollins has been going on for the past few months and the pressure of this match got to The Miz a few weeks ago, since The Intercontinental Champion slipped up on the mic when he was attempting to address his opponents by their Independent Wrestling ring names.

Miz called Seth Rollins by his old name Tyler Black before he referred to Balor as Prince Nevitt. Of course, Balor was called Devitt when he was performing in Japan. Miz then received a lot of negativity online following the comment which was considered to be quite a strange botch. Miz is one of the best promo deliverers in WWE, but it just goes to show that even The Miz slips up sometimes with some embarrassing consequences.

8 Cameron Forgets How To Pin Her Opponent

Via Cagesideseats.com

Cameron came to the WWE with a background in dance and was then called up to the main roster to partner Naomi as a Funkadactyl just a few months into her training. WWE may have pushed the former Cheerleader too quickly since she made a number of botches in the ring throughout her time on Monday Night Raw with one of them becoming somewhat infamous.

Cameron was facing her old friend Naomi when she delivered a split leg drop and attempted to pin her opponent. Cameron went on to berate the referee for not making the count before she realized that Naomi was still on her stomach, which meant that it wasn't a legal pin. Needless to say, Cameron was released from the company not long afterwards.

7 Roman Reigns Forgets His Lines

When The Shield split back in 2014 it allowed Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to pave their own paths to the World Championship, while it became quite clear that Roman Reigns wasn't very good at delivering promos. There were a number of occasions where The Big Dog forgot his lines, but one of the most famous was during a backstage segment when he forgot his lines and just stared at the camera.

Reigns tried to recover and finish the promo but it had already become clear that he wasn't a fan of cutting promos on live TV. Reigns has improved in recent years which has allowed him to be pushed to the top of the company, which shows just how far he has come since The Shield went their separate ways.

6 Mickie James' Gesture At WrestleMania 22

via youtube.com

Mickie James is a former six-time Women's Champion, but one of her most memorable moments was when she competed against Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22 for her first Championship. Mickie was playing a stalker gimmick at the time so when Trish had her in a headlock about to go for the Stratusfaction Mickie found an inventive way to get out.

This part of the match was already planned, but the fact that Mickie then licked her fingers after the gesture was something that even Vince McMahon saw as crass and it landed the Champion in hot water backstage afterwards. James made a good choice since it did fit in with her character, but the company that time was seen as PG and this definitely wasn't within those boundaries.

5 Daniel Puder And Kurt Angle

via youtube.com

One of the most famous shoot moments in WWE history was when Kurt Angle's ego obviously got the better of him and almost left him in quite an embarrassing position. Puder was part of Tough Enough at the time and Angle was challenging any one of the stars to an amateur wrestling match.

Puder volunteered, knowing that he had an MMA background but somehow managed to lock in the Kimora on the Olympic Gold Medalist, Angle was obviously caught but the referee's quick thinking to count a three count and allow Angle to win saved his blushes. Angle still hasn't forgiven the youngster for humiliating him, and turned to the WWE locker room to then show him how it's done at The Royal Rumble a few months later.

4 Kevin Owens And AJ Styles Pass The United States Championship

via bleacherreport.com

Kevin Owens and AJ Styles had a lengthy feud on WWE TV last year surrounding the United States Championship and after Styles took the title at a house show, Owens was able to win it back almost instantly at Battleground.

The finish of the match was messy and could easily have gone either way since the referee counted hesitantly before announcing Owens as the winner. Styles then looked visibly annoyed after the match and even argued with the referee, despite him being seen as the face. It's reported that WWE wanted Styles to hold the title for a lengthy stretch after he picked it up at a house show a few days before, but this was ruined by a messy finish. Owens then dropped the Championship back to Styles not long afterwards, which made this one of the strangest exchanges in recent memory.

3 Joey Mercury Vs The Ladder

via stillrealtous.com

Joey Mercury hasn't had a lot of luck in the ring, before he was part of J&J Security and being destroyed by Brock Lesnar, Joey was part of MNM and the team were part of a fatal four-way match at Armageddon back in 2006 which also included The Hardyz, Brian Kendrick and Paul London and William Regal and Dave Taylor.

This was probably one of Mercury's most memorable matches but only because the former Tag Team Champion was hit in the face with a ladder when Jeff Hardy jumped on it and it ricocheted into his face and left him covered in blood with a broken nose. Mercury left the match and was then helped backstage after the spot and it took him a number weeks to recover from his injuries.

2 Chris Jericho Intentionally Gets Himself Disqualified

via cagesideseats.com

Chris Jericho is a veteran in the wrestling world and rarely does anything wrong in the ring, but back in 2016 when he was facing off against Neville, he knew that he had to get himself disqualified to save his opponent. It was obvious that Neville had injured his leg when he was unable to climb the ropes and hit his finisher, but when Jericho went for a quick roll-up to end the match, the referee refused to count.

The former World Champion then knew that he had to do something to end the match since the planned finish wouldn't work. Jericho confronted the referee and then after shouting at him he pushed him and forced the DQ. Jericho then cut a promo after the match which wrapped up the scenario but made it clear that this wasn't the way the match was supposed to go.

1 Alicia Fox Forgets The Rules

Alicia Fox is considered to be a veteran in WWE, so when it comes to botches in the ring, she is the last person that many people would suspect. Fox did draw the wrong kind of attention to herself at TLC last year when she took on Sasha Banks.

Alicia attempted to score the pinfall on Sasha outside of the ring, obviously forgetting that in singles matches she needs to get her opponent in the ring to secure a pinfall. It was pulled up by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle the following night, which the company then attempted to use in Fox's favor to state that she was obviously crazy, but Alicia just temporarily forgot the rules and tried to pin Sasha at ringside.
