Wrestling great Terry Funk recently spoke with Andy Malnoske of Wrestling Inc. and one of the things that they discussed was the WWE Hall of Fame.

Funk said that he believes that some of the "losers" in the sport also deserve to be in the Hall of Fame because they helped the guys that were inducted, get in.

"The guys that go into the Hall of Fame are the winners, and the losers are the ones who put them in there, and I would like to see some of the great losers through the years be in the Hall of Fame," he said. "I know that that's probably impossible, but you've got to give those losers credit, they made the winners."

We think Funk makes a great point, but on the flip side, in sports, only the best make it into their respective Hall of Fame. But the guys that do lose more matches than they win, are very good at making the stars look very good, so we get what he's saying.

The problem is, there isn't a sport in this world like wrestling, where events are scripted. Guys aren't necessarily winning because they're a better wrestler, but because it's been predetermined for them to win.

The amazing thing about Funk is that he's still wrestling at the age of 73 on the independent circuit, where he's been wrestling since 2006. He stated during his interview with Malnoske that he continues to plan on wrestling, despite his age.

Funk's most recent match was in September of this year for the Big Time Wrestling promotion down in Raleigh, North Carolina, even though he just announced his retirement from wrestling at House of Hardcore 17 in September of 2016. He was a part of The Rock N' Roll Express in a six-man tag team match.

Funk was asked what's next in his career. He revealed that he suffered an abdominal hernia and that he underwent surgery to repair it and is hoping that he'll be able to recover in order to get back in the ring.

Funk admitted though that it just might be time for him to once again retire, given the fact that his family needs him. This would make sense because the last thing he needs to do is injure himself even more at his age.

There isn't anything else that Funk needs to prove. He's already been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and has won numerous championships throughout his career.
