Tessa Blanchard has responded to allegations that she was racist towards a fellow wrestler while competing in Japan.

Tessa Blanchard experienced a weekend of very mixed fortunes last Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Blanchard posted what appeared to be a pretty harmless tweet, asking that female wrestlers do a better job looking out for each other. However, it turns out others in the business don't feel as if she has taken her own advice in that regard, calling her out for alleged racism and bullying in the past.

These allegations couldn't have come to light for Blanchard at a worse time. The following day, the Impact star was set to make history, and she did. At Impact Wrestling's Hard To Kill PPV, Blanchard defeated Brian Cage for the promotion's World Championship. A ground-breaking moment as aside from Lucha Underground, a female wrestler hasn't won a World Title typically intended for men during the modern era of wrestling.

Unfortunately for Blanchard, that truly history-making moment has been overshadowed by what came the day before. NXT's Chelsea Green accused Blanchard of bullying her and others in the past, claims the Impact Champion quickly shot down. As for the allegations of racism made by Allysin Kay, Blanchard didn't react or reply to those, until now.

Rather than just reply to Kay, as Blanchard did with Green, the new World Champion has written and posted a statement to her Twitter account. "To be clear, I absolutely did not use that word," Blanchard writes. "That word is not in my heart. Racism is not in my heart." Blanchard goes on to further highlight her stance on racism and states that she wishes to use her platform to support the fight against racism.

As for what's next, chances are this won't be going away anytime soon, and nor should it if the allegations made against Blanchard turn out to be true. The new Impact Champion has been accused of being hard to work with in the past, and there have even been rumors that's why she didn't land a permanent contract with WWE. As for whether the accusations made are true, chances are the people closest to the situation will be the only ones who ever know the whole truth.
