When Sheamus and Cesaro were initially put together as a tag team, there were a lot of eyebrows raised. Many weren't convinced by their odd pairing However, the two men eventually won over fans and became a fantastic team together.

But while The Bar was an exceptional team, they are also two fantastic singles wrestlers who have achieved plenty in their own respective careers. But are they better together or alone?

10 As A Team: Incredible Matches

Over their time as a tag team, The Bar had some absolutely amazing matches together against a variety of teams. For some reason, their style really just connected well against teams and they could mix it up nicely and work against any style.

They always made their opponents look good as well as themselves which is what a great team should do and they just helped to strengthen the division on a whole, which is something WWE currently lacks.

9 As Singles Wrestlers: Nothing Left To Achieve Together

Over the time period that they were together, The Bar was unbelievably successful as a team. They won countless titles, competed in major storylines and were one of the most dominant tag teams of the time.

Because of that, there was simply nothing left for them to achieve in terms of championships, which is why it makes sense that they moved on to being singles wrestlers again to freshen up their characters.

8 As A Team: Compete Against New Teams

While they managed to achieve everything there was to do inside the ring in terms of titles, that doesn't mean they wrestled every team in existence. There are always new teams coming up and being created and The Bar would have had plenty of fresh rivals because of that.

An experienced tag team of legitimate guys putting over and helping younger wrestlers could have been perfect for the tag team division and enhancing the product.

7 As Singles Wrestlers: Can Be Utilized Easier

Both Sheamus and Cesaro are wrestlers that WWE tends to use to fill gaps in storylines and put them in when needed. They're never the number one guys in the company, but they always have a role because they are so good.

That's why it's better for them to be singles wrestlers because WWE can use them easier, whether it be in the main event for a quick feud or putting them in tag teams with others like Cesaro has done recently.

6 As A Team: They Were Great

One simple reason as to why they were better as a tag team is that they were fantastic together. Both men have had very successful careers away from each other, but arguably their best runs in WWE were as a unit.

Their hard-hitting no-nonsense approach just really worked nicely together as a team. They put on great matches and the fans really bought into them together which is why they were better off together.

5 As Singles Wrestlers: Chasing Singles Titles

Both Sheamus and Cesaro are incredibly underrated when it comes to their singles careers in wrestling, which is a real shame. They're two really effective wrestlers and they deserve major main event pushes as champions.

While Sheamus has had that before, Cesaro hasn't which is something his career desperately deserves. He's one of the best in-ring workers on the entire roster and deserves a run similar to Kofi Kingston, but he can only get that if he's a singles talent.

4 As A Team: A Stronger Connection

Sometimes, both Sheamus and Cesaro don't quite connect for some reason, with Vince McMahon clearly not seeing the 'it' factor in Cesaro, in particular. But when they were brought together, that was never the case.

Because they had such a great connection together as people, it worked out for them to be really on-screen. Their friendship clearly got over with fans and it helped work for them perfectly.

3 As Singles Wrestlers: They're Traditionally Singles Guys

The fact is that The Bar really came out of nowhere for them, with Cesaro and Sheamus feuding against each other and then just being put in as a team as it was the next logical step for that storyline.

Nobody expected them to last as long as they did, but what got lost in translation is that they're both normally singles wrestlers. Because of that, it makes sense for them to be back in that role as it suits them nicely.

2 As A Team: Not Lost In The Shuffle

As a tag team, the two men always had a spot on the card in WWE as they were a major team who were pushed. That meant that they were never lost in the shuffle which is sadly something that does happen when they are singles wrestlers.

Sheamus returned from injury and had a quick feud with Chad Gable but then wasn't used for months as a great example. However, when they're together that was never a problem.

1 As Singles Wrestlers: Further Character Development

While their character development isn't always the best, such as Sheamus' storyline with Jeff Hardy, at least being a singles wrestler gives them a chance to develop their character's more.

Both men can show more personality if they are working on their own as they need to develop that in order to make a connection. It's something that they can do as a tag team, but they are given much more of a focus as singles wrestlers, helping them stand out.
