The WWE creative team will have their hands full in trying to plot out the road to WrestleMania 34. As of now, Dean Ambrose (torn triceps), Samoa Joe (foot), Jason Jordan (neck), Sheamus (Neck), and Big Cass (recovering from a torn ACL), are all sidelined with injuries.
Ambrose is going to be out for most of 2018, so he won't be competing at WrestleMania. The others all seem to be up in the air for the time being. It's also worth noting that The Rock may not be able to compete this year.
The long and short of it? The WWE is already in a pickle trying to figure out what their card will look like in New Orleans. Now, reports are suggesting that The Miz may also be absent at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
According to Sportskeeda.com, the latest episode of Total Divas revealed that Miz and Maryse's baby is due on Apr. 6 - two days before WrestleMania 34. The eight-time Intercontinental Champion has maintained that he will be there with Maryse when the baby is born, so it's likely he chooses to sit out the show. Family does come first, after all.
It'll be interesting to see how this all develops. If their baby arrives before WrestleMania, will The Miz even get back in time for the show? And how will the creative team plan around throwing him in at the last minute, if that's what it comes down to?
Last week, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that a major push is being planned for The Miz leading up to WrestleMania. He also reported that original plans called for Miz to face Braun Strowman for the Intercontinental Championship at the show.
This appears to be up in the air now. Vince McMahon and co. will be left scrambling to fill out a card that could possibly be devoid of many top superstars.
