The Miz defeated Roman Reigns to capture his eighth Intercontinental Championship on the Raw 25th Anniversary show, and it may only be the start of a monster push for the perennial mid-card star.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, The Miz is about to embark on a major push heading into WrestleMania 34, and he'll be involved in a huge match. Meltzer didn't mention who he may face on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

If The Miz is about to enter the main event picture, it's safe to say this was long overdue. He's been with the WWE for over a decade, and has often had to wrestle inferior talent on the mid-card level. Miz is one of the top heels of the past decade, and no current superstar brings better microphone skills.

Miz has shown his ability to go up against many of the top stars in the past, including Reigns, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Cesaro and others. Despite this, he's only had one reign with the WWE Championship - which he captured on the Nov. 22, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Assuming The Miz's feud with Reigns finally ends, there are plenty of big names he could possibly face at WrestleMania. Perhaps another match against Cena or a bout with Brock Lesnar could be in the fold. Maybe even a move to SmackDown Live to clash with Kevin Owens or AJ Styles could be in the works.

It remains to be seen if The Miz will headline WrestleMania 34. He did face John Cena in the main event at WrestleMania XXVII, where he defeated John Cena to retain his WWE Championship.

The road to WrestleMania in New Orleans will begin this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. If Meltzer's report turns out to be true, we won't have to wait long to see whom The Miz may face on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
