Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed that he will be making an announcement at a UFC press conference this Friday.

The former WWE star, who was a show-opener for SmackDown's debut on FOX, might have something huge up his sleeves and he says he wants to "tell UFC fans and the MMA community first."

Johnson had an Instagram chat with UFC president Dana White on Tuesday, with the pair discussing the UFC 244 PPV set to take place this Saturday. The show should be a monumental one as White will be presenting the winner of Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal with a bespoke "BMF" title, a belt specially created for Saturday's fight between the pair.

After the talk, The Rock revealed plans to be present at Friday's press conference, where he will make an announcement. UFC has not disclosed a time or location for the presser, however.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that The Great One is not expected to announce that he will be taking part in MMA competition, which is a bit of a relief. As much as we want to see The Rock brawl in the octagon, no one wants to see that pretty face get hit.

Johnson is a client of Endeavor, a company that owns UFC, and his announcement could be about presenting the belt to the winner of the clash, given that he's a longtime UFC fan and Masvidal wants him to be the one to do it.

Per the Observer, though, it's most likely to involve Athleticon, a three-day event focusing on athletics, fitness and entertainment set to take place next October.

Just Imagine...

It would be pretty interesting to see Johnson fighting as a UFC competitor but, aside of probably Kevin Hart (jokingly), no one is looking to see him get hurt and it would be best if he were to never consider it.

In any case, we won't have to wait too long to find out what this is about.
