The Royal Rumble match is one of the most iconic in wrestling history. Some of the biggest names of all time have won this match and even more legends have at least competed in one, but that doesn't include Sting.

During his time in WWE, Sting would have been an amazing surprise entrant into a Royal Rumble, even if he wasn't going to win. However, that opportunity never went his way, and instead Sting never actually competed in this gimmick bout.

9 Wrestle The Deadman

The Undertaker and Sting

While Sting and Mark Calloway have technically competed in the past, that wasn't the match that the wrestling world wanted. They battled during Sting's surfer phase, while Undertaker was competing as Mean Mark.

However, when it came to the dream match of Sting's Crow character battling The Undertaker, it was sadly a match that never took place, despite how much fans wanted to see it. With the rise of cinematic matches, WWE could have made it happen, but it never became a reality.

7 Have A Singles AEW Match

Sting AEW Double Or Nothing

Sting's wrestling career has had a rebirth as of late due to his decision to come out of retirement and sign for AEW. He has only competed in two matches so far for Tony Khan's company, and both of them have been in tag team bouts.

While this has been sensible booking due to his injury history, the fact is that he has yet to have a singles match with the company. Of course, there is still plenty of time for that to change, and it likely will, but for now this is something he has yet to accomplish.

While a lot of people associate Sting with WCW, the fact is that a lot of his best years actually happened in TNA. He was dominant during his years with the company and he did enjoy championship glory.

Drew McIntyre Vs Bobby Lashley Hell In A Cell 2021

Hell in a Cell is one of the most iconic stipulations of all time, but it is one that Sting has never experienced. It's something that could have led to a brilliant moment with Sting always stepping up to the plate during big gimmick matches.

However, because he did not compete in WWE for that long a time, he never got the chance to work inside this stipulation, as it wasn't something WWE booked him in when he did join.

2 Win A WrestleMania Match

Sting WrestleMania 31

While Sting was able to compete in one WrestleMania match in his career, ticking off a major accomplishment, he didn't manage to win it. Sting's big moment came at WrestleMania 31 where he went one on one with Triple H.

It was a match most people expected the WCW legend to win due it being his debut at the event. However, despite an interference from the nWo, Sting was defeated by The Game. It was just another excuse for Vince McMahon to remind fans that WWE won the Monday Night Wars.

1 Worked For ECW

Sting as WCW World Champion

Sting has worked for a lot of major companies over the course of his career, competing for pretty much every big place that the industry has had to offer. From WCW and TNA to WWE and AEW, Sting has battled in plenty of top places to make his legacy what it is today.

However, one company that he never ended up wrestling for was ECW. This is arguably the one major company that Sting never worked for, which is due to how loyal he was to WCW at that time.
