There are a lot of things going on in WWE on a regular basis. So many storylines and ideas are running at any one moment that it's hard to keep up with things as they happen. Will this wrestler do this? Will this wrestler join this group? Is he/she retiring? Is he/she returning? There's never a dull moment in professional wrestling and that's what makes the shows and pay-per-views so much fun to watch. In an effort to try and wrapM our heads around some of the biggest things that could pop up in the next year, we're looking at 10 ideas we figure will happen for sure and 10 ideas we figured might happen, but never actually do.

From wrestlers winning titles to new titles making their debut. Or from some wrestlers debuting to other wrestlers leaving WWE, we're covering all of our bases. There's an owner that will have his hands full with two businesses running at one time, there's a wrestler turned Hollywood star who may be too busy to wrestle any longer and there are a few new faces that could be huge stars while others flop. There's even a guy sitting out right now that until he decides to come back to WWE, can't wrestle for anyone else. Will he move on or will he suck it up?

We're probably going to miss some things you have on your radar but below is a list of 10 things that will definitely happen in the next year and 10 that will definitely not.

20 Definitely Will: Neville Will Return

via wwe.com

While we don't know what Neville is doing day to day, we can imagine he's staying in shape and trying to figure out how to win an unwinnable situation. He was under contract with WWE and left due to differences of opinion. The company is not going to release him from his contract and while he sits out voluntarily, his contract does not run time off of itself. He's WWE property until they deem they no longer care and that's not about to happen.

Neville will need to return to WWE if he plans to return to wrestling.

If not, he's going to have to find another career. The good bet is that he comes back, does his time and when his contract officially expires, moves on to wrestling in Japan or for other promotions. It's basically the only way he gets out of his deal and still gets to wrestle. The good news for Neville is, should he find a way to get back on the same page as WWE, there is a huge opportunity for him to be a star on 205 Live and perhaps on the main roster. Rumours come and go that he'll be back but one has to imagine that will happen at some point this year.

19 Definitely Won't: Rey Mysterio Will Sign Full-Time Deal

via voiceofwrestling.net

WWE wants Rey Mysterio and it sounds like Mysterio wants WWE but the idea that these two will come together on a full-time deal looks farther and farther from reality as days pass. He was on fire at the Royal Rumble and he was talked about for months afterward. Then things cooled off and he was brought back for a one-time appearance at The Greatest Royal Rumble. His return wasn't nearly as hot.

If this continues, it appears WWE and Mysterio will settle into one-off appearances where he comes in and shows up for special occasions without ever getting a contract from WWE to appear on a regular basis. This might not be what WWE wants but it seems to be working for Mysterio who is scheduled for All-In, is wrestling and making appearances for other promotions and is doing well enough financially that he likely doesn't need WWE to make his return a success. Mysterio may just treat working with WWE like Chris Jericho does. He'll be open to coming for big moments and taking the payday that comes with it but he'll fill his calendar with other stuff in the meantime. He's a huge draw for so many promotions that his WWE run is more a want than a need.

18 Definitely Will: Miz Will Win The Intercontinental Title

via wwe.com

The Miz is a busy guy. He's got a newborn baby at home, a reality show about himself, his wife and that baby and he's staring square in the face an eventual meeting with Daniel Bryan who owes him a fair bit of payback. Those things may keep him busy for a while, but eventually, he's going to get another shot at the Intercontinental Title and break the record for the longest reign as IC Champion in WWE.

The Miz is too good and too strong an IC Champion to be denied the opportunity to hold that record and even though he's not on the brand that holds the Intercontinental Title, there are a number of mixed-brand pay-per-views and potentially another Superstar Shake-up in play within the next calendar year. Once The Miz gets done with Bryan he'll set his sights on trying to figure out how to get himself back in the IC picture. By then, Seth Rollins will have likely moved on from the Intercontinental Title to bigger and better things. Rollins is meant to be the leader and face of WWE at some point and while he's doing a great job of repping the company as the midcard champ, it's the Miz's belt to eventually get back.

17 Definitely Won't: Bobby Lashley Will Be "Over"

Bobby Lashley coming back to WWE was a nice surprise. He left Impact — where he became quite an interesting character — and returned to WWE with great fanfare and the potential to be the next MMA crossover star for WWE. Unfortunately, things haven't exactly gone as planned since his return. Lashley has been stuck in tag matches, with groups of people that include stars bigger than him and he's been placed in pay-per-view scenarios where he can't really shine. His return has been lacklustre and in an attempt to try something else, WWE filmed a sit-down interview with Renee Young to offer an inside look at Lashley the performer and person. It was boring and odd and while it gives a little curiosity as to where this might go, the idea on paper isn't strong.

Lashley has very little personality and if WWE pushes him before the fans are ready to accept him, WWE may have another Reigns situation on their hands and it will take much longer than a year for Lashley to be "over" with the WWE Universe. The WWE doesn't really have the opportunity to mess this up. If they do, it will take a long time to recover.

16 Definitely Will: Brock Lesnar Will Leave WWE

It's only a matter of time before Brock Lesnar leaves WWE for MMA or simply quits altogether. WWE fans may even push him out to the point the company is wondering why they're spending close to $10 million per year to keep the Beast Incarnate around. He's the highest paid performer in WWE and shows up the least. While he is a draw, he's not the draw he used to be and there are wrestlers and folks backstage starting to find his lack of making WWE a priority annoying. Worse yet, he's holding the Universal Title and if the rumours are true he might not be back until August to defend it, he's breaking every rule a fighting champion is supposed to follow. What a shame it would be if he broke CM Punks reign of 434 days while sitting on the sidelines.

If and when Lesnar is cleared to return to UFC, he will because Dana White needs a draw for his show. He'll get a ton of money and understandably, he'll want to go. WWE won't want him to and things will probably come to a point where the two sides mutually agree to simply part ways. WWE stands to lose a lot if Lesnar goes UFC and doesn't do well or is caught cheating again. It's not a risk WWE wants to take.

15 Definitely Won't: CM Punk Will Return

via mmajunkie.com

CM Punk is slated to fight again for UFC in June. He's also scheduled to sign autographs in Chicago just prior to the All-In show that Cody Rhodes is putting on for independent wrestling. It's going to be a huge show and understandably, rumours that CM Punk will appear are starting to circulate. Punk has one last shot at MMA and if he loses as badly as he did his first time out, he's not going to get another crack at the UFC. If that happens (many believe it will), it makes sense he would jump back to wrestling where he is still a huge star and would be welcomed by pretty much every company. The only problem is, that won't happen this year with WWE.

Punk and WWE have too much history to just put things behind them right away.

It could happen eventually but Punk will try the indie circuit, do the All-In show, New Japan and ROH before he goes WWE, if he comes back to wrestling at all. Fans want him back in WWE but that will take some time. Those in the WWE Universe begging for his return will have to wait a little longer.

14 Definitely Will: Ronda Rousey Will Win Women's Title

via indianexpress.com

It looks like Ronda Rousey winning a WWE Women's Title could happen much sooner than people expected. After only one win in a WWE ring, she is next in line to fight for the WWE Raw Women's Title and by most accounts, is likely to win the title from Nia Jax and head to SummerSlam as the new Raw Women's Champion. If she doesn't it will because of a some mysterious swerve that would likely see her get a rematch at SummerSlam. Either way, she'll hold the belt within a couple months of her first match at WrestleMania 34.

WWE clearly looks to have decided she is the future of the Women's Division and is going to give her the belt within the next few months. The idea for her is to eventually face off with Charlotte at WrestleMania 35 and between now and then, there's no doubt she'll have held the title at least once. Rousey is going to be a star in WWE and perhaps one of the biggest female stars the company has ever seen. It makes sense to give her a championship run even if she doesn't need one to be over. The question is, once she gets it, who can take it from her?

13 Definitely Won't: John Cena Will Retire

As much as John Cena is booking himself to be in movies and Hollywood projects, don't expect him to retire from WWE. Cena is too invested in the company to just walk away without trying to make both things work and for the WWE's part, they understand that Cena becomes a bigger draw the more successful he gets in Hollywood. They won't ask him to pick one or the other and will take any opportunity to use him whenever he can make himself available.

So too, Cena is one win shy of breaking the record for most WWE Title wins and you can be sure WWE wants to give him that record. Whether Cena wants to pass Ric Flair or not is unknown but it would make sense to allow him to do so. Like him or not, Cena has been arguably the biggest draw in wrestling over the last 15-20 years and WWE won't have him leave without one last run and major push to say goodbye properly. That won't be within this calendar year. Consider too, if this stuff with Nikki Bella is a work, he's doing it for ratings for the new tv show and to help her get back into wrestling. That means he wouldn't be far behind.

12 Definitely Will: Alicia Fox Will Be Let Go

via wwe.com

There are bound be to a few WWE Superstars who are let go this year. There is every year. One of the names that should be at the top of most lists is Alicia Fox. Fox hasn't done anything relevant on WWE programming in some time and recently she got herself in hot water for getting into a spat with Rousey's husband backstage over WrestleMania weekend. Her behaviour meant she missed the Women's Battle Royal and it got her sent home and clearly, WWE was trying to send a message. Missing WrestleMania when available is a huge deal in WWE.

The list of future endeavours always comes out as the stockholder meetings are made and financials announced. WWE purges a number of the current roster and Fox has to be the favourite as first to get the ax. She may not even have another opportunity to make things right this year as the roster on both Raw and SmackDown Live is so full of viable female wrestlers that Fox just doesn't fit. In reality, her job was in jeopardy long before this Rousey incident. Once half of the NXT women's roster was called up to Raw and SmackDown Live, Alicia's days were numbered.

11 Definitely Won't: Vince Will Manage Both WWE And XFL Successfully

via ewrestling.news

Vince McMahon registered a boatload of trademarks and moved $100 million worth of shares in an attempt to revive the XFL. One of the things he said would not happen is that the two companies would cross over nor would his rebooting the XFL affect his ability to effectively run the WWE. He's already lied about that. Vince has been caught using WWE funds as part of his business for Alpha Entertainment. There are reported financials that show WWE loaning money and other ways the wrestling side of things is going to be a part of the football side of things and that was inevitable. McMahon can't help himself and the first time the XFL ran it became a wrestling show with players running up and down a field.

Vince is going to have trouble keeping his word that he can do both.

He's a machine but this is huge for anyone, notwithstanding that Vince is in his 70's and that's just way too much to handle without messing things up badly. Triple H is going to have to run things in WWE otherwise the XFL is going to be another huge flop. Or, Vince will have to hire someone to run the XFL without much of his input. That doesn't seem likely.

10 Definitely Will: Johnny Gargano Will Make Main Roster Debut

via johnnygargano.com

Every year NXT sends up a number of their big names and this year, one of those names should be Johnny Gargano, aka "Johnny Wrestling". He's perhaps the biggest star in NXT with a huge following and he's easily got the skill to run with the main roster, even if he doesn't quite have the size. If it's not before the Raw after WrestleMania, it's almost a certainty that he'll be called up to either Raw or SmackDown Live on that show.

Gargano has a ton of experience and his "Johnny Wrestling" chants are comparable to only Daniel Bryan's "yes" chants which some have already said could be as big if not bigger. Gargano deserves a call-up and once he ends his battle with Tommaso Ciampa in NXT, it could happen relatively quickly. This isn't to say he'll find big success in WWE or that he won't get called up to 205 Live, but wherever he lands he will have deserved to be up higher than having to stay in NXT. He'll be highly anticipated and his matches should mean some of the best in-ring wrestling the WWE has seen in years. He's that good. A dream match against Daniel Bryan might be one of the first orders of business after his call-up.

9 Definitely Won't: Titus O'Neil Will Be Released

WWE.com

Just a few months ago, many might have figured Titus O'Neil was high up on the list of talents to be released in the coming year from WWE. While he's been a strong ambassador for the company, he's not gotten much accomplished in the ring and as such WWE hasn't really had a ton of use for him. When he fell at The Greatest Royal Rumble, everything changed.

That one mistake made O'Neil hugely popular in WWE and while the company is sure to screw up capitalizing on what happened there, WWE will have hours of replays and countdown lists where Titus will sit atop of the rankings because of that epic fail. He's going to make a mint of merchandising, and strangely enough, that slide under the ring apron as he tried to enter the Rumble, and his handling the embarrassing moment with class, probably saved him his job. Titus O'Neil will never be a champion and he probably won't be relevant in WWE over the next year, but you can bet WWE is going to try and push as much out of the botch as they can and while they do, he'll avoid getting his release papers. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good.

8 Definitely Will: Daniel Bryan Will Win World Title

www.latimes.com

When you consider he just recently suffered a loss at the hands of Rusev, the WWE appears to be slow-playing Daniel Bryan's rise back to the top of the totem pole but don't let that fool you into thinking he won't win the WWE Championship sometime this calendar year. He's too popular and there's always that risk of injury so WWE won't take chances by holding off too long.

He'll finish his feud with Big Cass and move onto a program with The Miz in time for SummerSlam. That will keep him out of the title picture but after that, he should get a crack at Shinsuke Nakamura or AJ Styles, one of whom will likely be holding the title at that time. Both are dream matches for WWE and both have the draw to be a major match at WrestleMania 35. If it takes that long for Bryan to get the title back it would be a surprise but WWE may be holding his victory for a huge moment like the "Show of all Shows". There is no doubt that whatever road WWE has Bryan on, it will eventually lead to a WWE Title or Universal Title win sometime in the year.

7 Definitely Won't: Asuka Will Be The Biggest Star In Women's Division

via wwe.com

If you had suggested two months ago that Asuka was going to be the star of the Women's Division in WWE, you'd have had a long line up of people to agree with you. Perhaps only Ronda Rousey might have been on a road to bigger things than Asuka but the "Empress of Tomorrow" might now be the considered "The Empress of Yesterday." It's harsh, but it's quite possibly very true.

She shockingly lost at WrestleMania 34 to Charlotte Flair and since that time hasn't played much of a role on WWE programming. She's showed up but has been relegated to tag matches and not been viewed as anywhere near the unstoppable force she was before her undefeated streak came to an end. Frankly, this might have been one of WWE's biggest blunders of the year but at some point, that streak was going to end and what WWE did next counted for a lot. Asuka is no longer the star she was projected to be and she's definitely not on course to be the biggest star on the women's roster. She might be third, moving her way down even farther as others start to show their value. As it stands now, she's second to Rousey and Charlotte.

6 Definitely Will: Andrade "Cien" Almas Will Be A Champion

via wwe.com

Like Johnny Gargano, Andrade "Cien" Almas has the ability to steal any show he's on. But, unlike Gargano, Almas has already received his call-up to the main roster and fans are eagerly awaiting his debut. The stars should and will align for Almas sometime this year to the point that he makes a strong debut with a good push by the company and as a heel character makes a run at the United States Championship currently held by Jeff Hardy.

If it is Hardy that Almas faces, that could be a great match but perhaps things change up a bit before it's Almas's turn. Either way, he's got the cards to be an effective champion. He's playing the non-American character, he's got a valet in Salina Vega, he's easy to dislike because of his brash attitude and, most of all, he can go in the ring. The only hope for most fans is that WWE doesn't mess up his call-up like they've done with so many NXT stars of the past. History seems to show that WWE hasn't been able to carry over the success of their biggest NXT draws to the main roster and Almas is a guy that need the opportunity to show what he can do in the ring to be effective.

5 Definitely Won't: Rusev Will Be Seen By Management As A Star

via spoilerfreewrestling.com

It would be a pleasant surprise if Rusev's recent win over Daniel Bryan means he's going to move on to Money in the Bank, win the ladder match and eventually use the briefcase to steal the WWE Title. By now, most of us should know better. As much as Rusev might deserve that path thanks to the ability to get himself over as a fan-favourite regardless of how little WWE gets behind him, you can't win the title if WWE never books you too. History shows, that just isn't in the cards for Rusev and Rusev Day.

This is one of those entries where we hope we're completely wrong and WWE finally gives Rusev his shining moment and that day is forever known as the real Rusev Day.

But something tells us we'll be getting our hopes up when it comes to this loveable Bulgarian and ultimately let down for the 100th time. The good news is it looks like Lana has been put back with Rusev and that's a good start. She makes his odds of gaining some momentum much stronger. Go ahead WWE and stuff this one down our throats. We'd love Rusev to be a star and to us he is. We just need you to get on board.

4 Definitely Will: Seth Rollins Will Be Universal Champion

via wwe.com

Seth Rollins is making for a fantastic Intercontinental Champion and he's proving week in and week out to be one of the better workers in WWE. He's bringing back the reputation that the IC belt was the "workers title." The reality is however, he's destined for much bigger and better things. R0llins is a WWE Champion. He's the potential face of WWE and within a year, he'll have dropped the Intercontinental Title to someone else so that he can try and take the Universal Title from whoever is holding it at the time. This is even truer today when you consider that Roman Reigns isn't working out as the No. 1 challenger to Lesnar's title and in recent weeks, Braun Strowman is being pushed in tag matches and comedy sketches.

Rollins has every tool there is to being the best this business has to offer and when you have that kind of asset in your company, you eventually have to make him the champion of the world. If Rollins isn't going after the title by the time SummerSlam rolls around, you can bet that it won't be long after before he gets his first sniff. There are rumors that potentially Reigns turns on Rollins and they have a program together with Reigns playing the heel.

3 Definitely Won't: Women's Tag Team Titles Introduced

via wrestlingnews.co

There is speculation and the WWE has teased the idea of introducing Women's Tag Titles to the company and if they do, there are a few names and teams that would make sense to go after them. The IIconics, Bellas and Riott Squad seem to be the logical fits. That said, there are a few reasons this likely won't happen this year for WWE. First, there's not enough female talent to make a tag team title for each show. How can you have one set of belts on Raw and not make some for SmackDown Live? The women of WWE are making huge strides but the company needs to go a long way to having enough talent to offer a Women's Title and a Women's Tag Title on each show.

Second, WWE has to be careful of how many titles they introduce and how quickly. They can easily overdo things if they get ahead of themselves and with that in mind, the company make take a more cautious approach before just adding the titles to the mix. Better to know for sure you want them than to introduce them and take them away. These belts may come, it just won't likely be this year for WWE.

2 Definitely Will: Woken Universe Will Add More Members

via culturedvultures.com

The WWE hasn't really tapped into the weirdness that is Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt, and the "Woken Universe", but you can expect they will explore that option in the coming weeks and months. The idea here is that as a tag team Wyatt and Hardy are strong, (obviously, as they are the current Raw Tag Team Champions) but as a group of "Woken Warriors" the faction becomes unpredictable and eventually unstoppable.

Jeff Hardy is a logical choice to add to the group since he already has a character in Brother Nero and perhaps fans get introduced more closely to Matt Hardy's wife, Reby Sky and their close family friend Senior Benjamin. If not, expect there to be castoffs from WWE who will likely find a home within this group. They could very much become the "cult-like" faction in WWE and a good cult means recruiting more followers to spread their message that everything is "wonderful!". This is a group that could get quite large by the time the year is over. The alternative is that Hardy and Wyatt come to a disagreement and feud again. Hopefully, WWE explores what these two can do as leaders of a group before making the decision.

The biggest change WWE may make this year is finally realizing that as a babyface, Roman Reigns simply isn't working. No matter which way WWE tries to sell Reigns as a good guy, the fans aren't buying it. They're booing him at every turn, leaving arenas during the main events he's in and pitting Reigns up against the most hated performers in WWE isn't working. WWE and Vince McMahon can only make excuses for so long before they have to eventually give the fans what they want. Hopefully, by then, it isn't too late.

Reigns could make for a very good heel and with fans expecting it to happen sometime this year, WWE will have to choose the right time and place to get the most impact out of it. Rumours are he'll turn on Seth Rollins or another fan favourite to get the initial heat but WWE shouldn't worry. Fans are ready to hate on Reigns and WWE should welcome the change. It may not be Reign's fault that his babyface character isn't over. It is now cool to boo Reigns and that will continue to happen no matter what WWE does. At some point in the year, WWE will finally embrace things and make the switch. They have to if they want to save Reign's career.
