UPDATE: Braun Strowman has been added to The Miz's team.

Kurt Angle announced on Raw this week that a recently reunited Shield will take on the team of The Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro at TLC in the match type the pay-per-view is named after.

Last week's Raw closed with a pretty memorable image. A recovering Roman Reigns was seething in the locker room only to be joined by his former Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Well, this week Raw opened with an even more unforgettable segment that followed on from the last thing we saw on last week's show.

The Miz opened the show on Monday night with his signature talk show segment, Miz TV. The Intercontinental Champion used the spotlight to brag about his continued beating down of Roman Reigns as well as hand out awards to those who have helped him do so. Naturally, Reigns joined the party soon enough, but he didn't come alone. Rollins and Ambrose stood either side of The Big Dog and all three men would run riot on Miz and his cronies, finishing things up with their patented triple powerbomb on The A-Lister.

A little later in the night, Angle caught up with a still shaken Miz to pile more bad news on The Awesome One. The Raw General Manager revealed to The Miz and the WWE Universe that at TLC, Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro will take on The Shield in the night's main event. Not only that but the bout will be a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

The Shield broke up well over three years ago now when Seth Rollins betrayed his brothers and aligned himself with Triple H and The Authority. Although there have been brief moments between then and now when the three of them have sort of been on the same page, this is truly the full fledged reunion that everyone has been waiting for.

The Shield are back together and we already know what their first match is going to be. Plus, we have less than two weeks to wait until we see it. Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose had some pretty incredible matches as a trio, the last of which were some of the best against a reformed Evolution. If the three of them still work as well together as they did during that series of bouts, then we truly are in for a treat come TLC.
