While not every wrestling promotion puts much effort into their tag team division, TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling) offered really strong tag team wrestling throughout its two-decade history, with legendary teams like Motor City Machine Guns, Team 3D, and Beer Money Inc. being among the greats.

Before most of those teams, however, there was America’s Most Wanted. The team of James Storm and the sadly lesser known Chris Harris basically put the division on the map after they formed in 2002. By the time they broke up in 2006 the duo were six-time NWA World Tag Team Champions and put on loads of really great matches against some of TNA’s best teams. Now that Harris has made a return to Impact Wrestling, let's take a look at this team's greatest matches.

10 America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (NWA Total Nonstop Action #29, 1/22/2003)

America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (NWA Total Nonstop Action #29, 1/22/2003)

While the early days of TNA were full of lowest common denominator antics and bizarre booking, the homegrown pillars of the company were there from the very beginning and putting on awesome matches amid all the Vince Russo-isms.

In the tag team division of this era, America’s Most Wanted and Triple X put on some of the greatest tag matches in TNA history (see below). In this underrated gem from TNA’s first year of existence, the Elix Skipper and Low-Ki configuration of Triple X stole the show -- and the NWA Tag Team Titles -- from Chris Harris and James Storm.

9 Rhino & Team 3D vs. Jeff Jarrett & America’s Most Wanted (Genesis, 11/13/2005)

Rhino & Team 3D vs. Jeff Jarrett & America’s Most Wanted (Genesis, 11/13/2005)

Jeff Jarrett was the World Champ and AMW were the Tag Champs, so they decided to team up in a six-man tag against their babyface challengers in the main event of Genesis, which would be Team 3D’s first PPV match.

As one might expect from a match involving former ECW guys, it’s a violent hardcore brawl as the two teams fight all over the arena - and one that ended up more exciting than the actual AMW vs. Team 3D matches that followed.

8 America’s Most Wanted, Abyss & Jeff Jarrett vs. Team 3D, Rhino & Ron Killings (Destination X, 3/12/2006)

America’s Most Wanted, Abyss & Jeff Jarrett vs. Team 3D, Rhino & Ron Killings (Destination X, 3/12/2006)

On a show buoyed by strong X Division efforts -- including an Ultimate X match between Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe -- America’s Most Wanted teamed up with Abyss and Jeff Jarrett in an eight-man tag match in the midcard.

While not the most important match on the show, it’s a lively 20-minute effort that basically functions as a way to have a bunch of disparate babyfaces team up against the respective heels they’re feuding with, like a New Japan preview match.

7 The Naturals vs. America’s Most Wanted (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling #107, 7/21/2004)

TNA: America's Most Wanted vs. The Naturals

Despite being three-time NWA World Tag Team Champions, Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens -- The Naturals -- are actually an underrated tag team. They rarely get namechecked when fans discuss the best teams in TNA history.

Despite that, they’ve got some great matches under their belt, like this Six Sides of Steel title defense against AMW in the main event of this 2004 weekly pay-per-view episode. This forgotten brawl would be Storm and Harris’ first foray into the Six Sides of Steel, but not their last.

6 AJ Styles, Rhino, Ron Killings & Sting vs. America’s Most Wanted, Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner (Lockdown, 4/23/2006)

For the period it lasted -- 2005 to 2016 -- the War Games style Lethal Lockdown match could be counted on to offer strong doses of brawling.

This 2006 effort between Team Jarrett and Team Sting was only the second of its kind in TNA history, but a fun one that’s especially memorable for a classic spot where AJ Styles dove off a ladder, putting James Storm through a table. It’s important to know that this spot happened on the roof of the cage.

5 America’s Most Wanted vs. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels (Sacrifice, 5/14/2006)

AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels made such great rivals throughout their TNA career that it’s easy to forget they also made great tag team partners for a brief spell, enjoying a couple of runs with the NWA World Tag Team Championship.

But before that, they had to chase the titles, as part of their feud with America’s Most Wanted, leading to this unsuccessful but rousing match at Sacrifice. While the title belts would elude Styles and Daniels in this outing, it wouldn’t for long.

While their previous matchup failed to get the job done, a month after their Sacrifice attempt AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels would manage to dethrone Harris and Storm as NWA World Tag Team Champions. They had to because this Slammiversary title shot was the challengers’ last chance.

With Sirelda backing them up to run defense against the interfering Gail Kim, Daniels and Styles pulled out some amazingly athletic teamwork to finally put away the champs, upstaging the five-man King of the Mountain match that would be the main event.

3 Team Canada vs. America’s Most Wanted (Final Resolution, 1/16/2005)

Team Canada vs. America’s Most Wanted (Final Resolution, 1/16/2005)

James Storm would eventually find future tag team success with Bobby Roode as Beer Money Inc. However, two years before that the partners found themselves on opposite sides of the ring as AMW challenged Roode and Eric Young for the NWA World Tag Team Championships at Final Resolution.

Harris and Storm were huge babyfaces in this match with the crowd overwhelmingly behind them as they brawled with the cheating Team Canada. There’s loads of cheating on the heels’ parts, but it works beautifully in the match, proving to be Young and Roode’s downfall.

2 America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (NWA Total Nonstop Action #51, 6/25/2003)

While not the most famous match between the two teams, opening up the 51st TNA weekly pay-per-view was Triple X -- the team of Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper -- defending the NWA World Tag Team Titles against Harris and Storm in a steel cage.

It’s a great match with lots of exciting spots in it, particularly “top of the cage” maneuvers, but would end up overshadowed by an even greater tag team cage match with the same teams a year and a half later.

1 America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (Turning Point, 12/5/2004)

America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (Turning Point, 12/5/2004)

The most famous encounter between Triple X and America’s Most Wanted would be the Six Sides of Steel cage match to close out the pay-per-view Turning Point. While there was no title on the line, the stakes were high, as the losing team would be forced to disband.

The ensuing match was a 21-minute epic that featured some really violent brawling in addition to some all-time great high spots, like Skipper doing a Hurricanrana off the cage, resulting in what many fans consider to be one of TNA’s greatest matches of all-time -- tag or otherwise.
