WrestleMania is the biggest event of the year and WWE always go all out to ensure that it is a memorable occasion. WWE’s Attitude Era saw some of the most memorable WrestleMania matches and spots, with one of the biggest matches coming at WrestleMania X-Seven. At that event, the incredible TLC match between The Hardyz, Edge and Christian and The Dudley Boyz took place, which saw one of the most dangerous WrestleMania spots of all time, but we'll have more on that later.
That being said, WWE has still managed to continue to pull out incredible WrestleManias and even more incredible WrestleMania spots. WrestleMania 32 was merely weeks ago and even that version of the event saw one of the most dangerous spots of all time.
The following list will look at the 13 most dangerous spots that have taken place on the grandest stage of them all. Should they have been performed on live TV? Either way, these spots now have a special place in WWE history forever, but where do they rank on the list?

13 Randy Orton’s Dangerous RKO – WrestleMania XXX
Randy Orton put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line in the main event of WrestleMania XXX, but when Batista and Orton teamed up to take Daniel Bryan out of the match, it could have cost Orton a lot more than his Championship.
Randy Orton jumped up to receive Daniel Bryan after a Batista Bomb and sent him through the announcers table. But it seems Orton misjudged the landing and managed to land spine first onto a monitor. The landing looked very painful and the following night on Raw, Orton’s back was heavily bruised, but he was lucky it didn’t end up much worse.
12 Shawn Michaels Piledriver to John Cena – WrestleMania 23
There is a reason why WWE banned the Piledriver and now only allow The Undertaker and Kane to perform the Tombstone variation on WWE TV. Shawn Michaels and John Cena collided for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 23 in a match that is considered to have been one of John Cena’s best at WrestleMania. One of the craziest parts of the match took place when Michaels decided to give Cena a piledriver on the steel steps. The impact looked to be huge, but Cena being the guy he is still managed to recover from the devastating move and win the match.
11 Undertaker’s Dive Over the Ropes – WrestleMania XXV
The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels had a WrestleMania feud in the mid 2000s that brought The Heartbreak Kid’s career to an end, but it is also thought to have been one of The Undertaker’s greatest matches on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Deadman left it all in the ring at WrestleMania XXV, when he unleashed an incredible dive over the ropes and landed squarely on his head. The fans were speechless for a few seconds afterwards, but thankfully Undertaker was able to continue.
10 Dean Ambrose Is Powerbombed Through a Ladder – WrestleMania 31
Since WWE decided to make Money in the Bank its own pay-per-view, WrestleMania had been missing something and WWE tried to get some of the back by having a seven man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31. This match was full of spots that made it memorable after the event was over and Dean Ambrose getting powerbombed onto a ladder on the outside was one of those. Luke Harper threw Ambrose onto the ladder and forced Ambrose out of the match.
9 John Morrison’s Moonsault With a Ladder – WrestleMania XXIV
The Money in the Bank Ladder match became one of the most brutal matches on the WrestleMania card and was a match that fans always looked forward to. John Morrison was one of WWE’s biggest risk takers and he proved this when he delivered a moonsault from the top rope, while holding a ladder, onto a crowd of wrestlers that included Carlito and Shelton Benjamin. Luckily no one was hurt, but this could have been a recipe for disaster especially considering the amount of ladder accidents that WWE has had.
8 Shawn Michaels Takes Out Vince McMahon – WrestleMania 22
The feud between Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon that engulfed most of 2005 and 2006 is now legendary and finally ended when Shawn Michaels defeated Vince at WrestleMania 22, thanks to an incredible elbow drop off a ladder. Shawn had beaten Vince to the point where he could put him on a table with a trash can on his head and even handcuffed his son Shane to the ring ropes, so he could watch helplessly as Shawn did the DX chop and dropped onto Vince, knocking him straight through the table. Shawn then picked Vince up and Superkicked him to record the victory.
7 Matt Hardy and Bubba Ray Crash Through Four Tables – WrestleMania X-Seven
WrestleMania X-Seven's TLC match is still considered to be one of the most brutal matches at a WWE event. Lita played her part in the match and even ended up needing stitches, but Matt Hardy and Bubba Ray managed to top this when they managed to crash though four tables when falling off a ladder. Both men were fighting it out on top of a ladder when Rhyno ran into the ring and tipped them over and through four tables at ringside. The only thing that made this better was JR’s commentary.
6 Jeff Hardy and Edge Break the Ladder – WrestleMania 23
Another one of WWE’s impressive MITB ladder matches took place at WrestleMania 23, but this time it was Hardy and Edge who had the craziest moment, with Hardy climbing the ladder while Edge lay helpless across another ladder that had been set up at ringside. Hardy then leg dropped Edge through the ladder, which shockingly managed to snap from the impact. It was a frightening moment and - even for a guy like Hardy - seemed completely insane. Luckily both wrestlers made it out of the ordeal alright.
5 Shelton Goes Through the Ladder – WrestleMania XXIV
The Money in the Bank Ladder match has been the stage for some of the most impressive stunts over the years, but one of the most dangerous had to be when Shelton Benjamin flipped onto a ladder at WrestleMania XXIV. Shelton climbed the ladder and looked set to become Mr. Money in the Bank for the first time before Carlito and Mr. Kennedy appeared and tipped Benjamin off the ladder. He then flipped over and managed to land through a ladder that had been set up ready at ringside with a crack that echoed throughout the crowd.
4 Edge Puts Mick Foley Through a Flaming Table - WrestleMania 22
Edge and Mick Foley went into WrestleMania 22 to fight it out in a hardcore match after Mick had cost Edge the WWE Championship and Edge had embarrassed Foley to the point where he had accepted the match. The match was an incredible showing from both men and one of the most dangerous spots of all-time saw Foley set up a table on the outside before Lita low blowed him and set the table on fire. Foley then stepped up on the apron and was speared through the flaming table in an absolutely incredible finale to an insane match.
3 Shane McMahon Jumps off Hell in a Cell – WrestleMania 32
WrestleMania 32 was a lackluster event due to the amount of injures that had managed to stack up against WWE in the months leading up to it. But Vince managed to pull out a fantastic storyline that saw his son Shane return to the company for the first time in seven years. Shane went on to face The Undertaker in a match that wasn't terrific, except for the fact that Shane threw caution to the wind and took a leap of faith off the top of the Hell in a Cell cage and through the announce table after The Undertaker moved. This cost Shane the match and his claim to Monday Night Raw (even though he's still been running it...).
2 Edge spears Jeff Hardy Out of the Sky – WrestleMania X-Seven
WrestleMania X-Seven is considered to be one of the greatest because of the TLC Match between The Hardyz, Dudleyz and Edge and Christian, which included one of the greatest spots of all time. The match was one of the most brutal and savage in WWE history and the additions of Lita, Spike and Rhyno made this even more brutal than your usual match. Edge topped this by climbing a ladder while Jeff Hardy was hanging onto the title and speared him out of the air.
1 Brock Lesnar’s Shooting Star Press – WrestleMania XIX
This is perhaps the scariest and most dangerous WrestleMania spots of all time, mostly because Brock Lesnar was not built to perform such a stunt. The match was up in the air for a while but the match went ahead and both men put on a fantastic show. Then, Brock Lesnar climbed the ropes and delivered a shooting star press which caused him to land directly on his head. Lesnar was motionless and it seemed like he had broken his neck, but luckily he recovered enough to go on and win the match.
