Edge was = one of the most recognizable WWE Superstars of the 2000s, as along with Christian, Matt and Jeff Hardy and The Dudley Boyz, he was a part of what is considered to have been one of the greatest matches at WrestleMania when they collided in a TLC match at WrestleMania X-Seven. Edge had a decorated career in WWE before his retirement in 2011, as he managed to win 31 Championships in a career that spanned almost 15 years, which included eleven World Championships, five Intercontinental Championships and one United States reign, as well as a record 12 World Tag Team Championships and two WWE Tag Team Championship reigns. Edge was also the 2001 King of the Ring winner, the first ever Money in the Bank winner and the 2010 Royal Rumble winner, making him the first ever wrestler to achieve these three accolades.

He was forced into retirement due to a neck injury, otherwise he could have still been wrestling to this day; instead he has made the switch to acting. Edge has made several returns to WWE since he was forced to relinquish his World Championship and step away from the ring, and has also been awarded his own comedy show, along with Christian on WWE’s award winning Network.

Even though Edge retired from the company almost five years ago, he is still considered to have been one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time and still holds many records that will never be broken. These are 14 shocking things that happened to Edge after he retired.

Edge, his best friend Christian and Chris Jericho were the three long haired blonde superstars of the 1990s and it wasn’t until his 2012 Hall of Fame induction that the WWE Universe were introduced to a new version of Edge. The Rated R Superstar had decided to cut off the locks that defined his character and instead opted for the more mature, short haired look.

Edge is a very smart man and has always been an advocate of reading. He was also one of the more passionate superstars when it came to charity work, which included helping kids to read.

Since the end of his WWE career, Edge has continued this and was even a part of Canada Reads in 2016 where he defended Minister Without Portfolio by Michael Winter. If he had been cleared to wrestle after the injury, then there is no way of knowing just how may records Edge would have gone on to break or what kind of superstar he would have become.
