"HERE COMES THE MONEY!!!"

At long last, the prodigal son has returned. If you missed RAW on Monday night, then you missed arguably the biggest pop of the last year as Shane McMahon returned to television for the first time in about six years.

While it may not seem like a big deal to some of the younger folks, those of us who have been watching wrestling for a long time know how exciting Shane's return is. Sure, he's the son of Vince McMahon and Stephanie's brother, but I will make the argument that he's been one of the most exciting characters on WWE television over the last 20 years. He steals so many of the segments that he's in (as he did on Monday night) and has also put on some great matches over the years.

It's got to be very difficult for Shane to be Vince's son, which is why I applauded him when he left the company to make a name for himself in the business world, which he certainly did. He became the first CEO of China's first VOD service, You on Demand, and also sat on the board of directors for the International Sports Management agency. But after all of these years, Shane McMahon has come home.

Not only does Shane McMahon's return show us that WWE can still surprise us from time to time, but it also adds some excitement to a WrestleMania card that not everyone is too happy about thus far. It's not yet known whether Shane will stick around after WrestleMania, but we do know we'll be seeing him face The Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell match on wrestling's biggest stage on April 3.

So let's get you caught up on what you need to know about Shane McMahon.

15 15. He Started Working for WWE as a Teenager

Shane McMahon first started working for his father's company by simply filling merchandise orders in the warehouse as a teen. At 15 years old, in his third summer at the warehouse, Shane asked his father for a raise, as he was having trouble building his savings for a car. When Vince didn't give him one, Shane quit and found a construction gig after three days that paid him triple what he was making with his father. While some may assume Vince was upset at Shane for leaving, Shane says Vince had a proud look on his face when he found out about Shane's new job. It probably reminded him of somebody.

14 14. He Once Screwed Over Stone Cold Steve Austin

After becoming a regular on-screen character in 1998 as part of the ongoing feud between Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin, he was "demoted" back to referee status after re-signing Austin to a new contract after he was "fired" at the Judgment Day pay-per-view in 1998. At Survivor Series, Shane refereed the women's title match between Sable and Jacqueline before running in during Stone Cold's match with Mankind in a semifinal contest for the vacant WWE Championship. Austin had Mankind covered and Shane counted 1-2....and then flipped Austin the middle finger, joining his father back in The Corporation in the process. Gerald Brisco would subsequently hit Austin with a chair and Shane counted the 1-2-3 to complete his heel turn.

13 13. He's A Former European Champion

On the February 15, 1999 episode of RAW, Shane teamed with Kane to defeat Triple H and X-Pac in a tag team match. Due to a pre-match stipulation, Shane was awarded X-Pac's European Championship. It was around this time that Shane truly started to embrace his role as the son of a billionaire and started saying that he was from "the mean streets of Greenwich", even bringing in some of his childhood buddies to form "The Mean Street Posse". Remember Pete Gas?

12 12. His First WrestleMania Match Was 17 Years Ago

Shane McMahon wrestled his first match at "the granddaddy of 'em all" at WrestleMania XV by defending his European Championship against the man he took it from, X-Pac. I don't know if I've ever seen so much outside interference in a nine-minute match. Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, The Mean Street Posse and Test all got involved until Triple H and Chyna came out, seemingly to make the save for their DX running mate. However, they ended up turning on X-Pac, allowing Shane to retain the title. A short time after, Shane would retire the title so he didn't have to defend it anymore.

11 11. He Once Tried To Keep Stephanie From Dating Test

Obviously, this was for storyline purposes, but Shane McMahon did try to keep Test from dating Stephanie. Shane's baby sister had started her on-screen career by being kidnapped in the summer of 1999, which led to a lot of McMahon family drama. But once that was done, she began to date former Corporation member Test and that didn't sit well with Shane. The feud led to Greenwich Street Fight between the two at SummerSlam. This was the match that really proved that Shane McMahon could deliver a high-quality match.

10 10. He's A Former Hardcore Champion 

Once everyone figured out that Shane could really go, he was booked in a number of matches in 2000 and during the buildup to SummerSlam, Edge and Christian helped him win the Hardcore Championship from "The Lethal Weapon", Steve Blackman. A rematch was made for SummerSlam and Shane and Blackman put on a pretty good show. The match wasn't insanely long (just over 10 minutes) and there was some interference from Test and Albert, but the ending was enough to make it noteworthy. Shane and Blackman both climbed the scaffolding in the stage area and after Blackman hit Shane-O-Mac with a few singapore cane shots, Shane fell some 40 feet to the floor. Great stuff.

9 9. He Used to Party with Raven

Shane was a young man once and did what any young man with millions of dollars with his name would do; he liked to have a good time. When Raven was in WWE as Johnny Polo, would bring Shane out drinking with him until the wee hours of the morning. When other guys in the locker room accused Raven of sucking up to the boss's son, Raven said he just got himself in trouble, as Vince wasn't crazy about his son partying with one of the talents.

8 8. He Beat Big Show In A Last Man Standing Match

It's not that big of a deal to beat Big Show these days, but back in 2001, the seven-footer was kind of a big thing. After WrestleMania, Vince used Big Show to get revenge on Shane, which led to a great match between the two at the 2001 version of Backlash. For one, the promo the week before that Shane delivered was amazing as he read his own version of "Jack and the Beanstalk", stating "the story ended with a mighty crash landing and when it was all said and done, Shane O’Mac was the last man standing." And then he went out and delivered as he won the match after again climbing that scaffolding in the stage area and dropping an elbow on Big Show, who wasn't able to answer the ten-count. Classic Shane.

7 7. He Stole The Show With Kurt Angle

If the match from Backlash wasn't enough, Shane McMahon put on one of the best matches of 2001 with an amazing encounter with Kurt Angle at King of the Ring. After costing Kurt Angle the chance to win the KOTR tournament earlier in the night, Angle got his revenge on Shane in a Street Fight later in the show. As part of the continuing WCW storyline, Shane McMahon was out to prove that he could hang with arguably the best wrestler in the world at the time. And he certainly did. For over 25 minutes, Angle and McMahon battled and Shane took an absolute beating. In a brutal scene, Kurt Angle attempted to give Shane a belly-to-belly suplex through the plate glass window that was part of the set, but the first one failed and Shane landed directly on his head. Angle would succeed with the second one, but trying to come back through, he dropped Shane on his head numerous more times until finally throwing Shane through the glass. Absolutely brutal.

6 6. He was supposed to run WWE's ECW

When WWE was attempting to revive the ECW promotion in 2006, it was originally meant to be streamed on WWE.com, with Shane running everything. Plans were eventually changed and WWE decided to put it on the Sci-Fi network and we all know how that went. Perhaps if WWE was able to keep it online and put it in Shane's hands, the brand could have quietly built a loyal following on its own.

5 5. He Worked His Way Up the WWE Ladder

As time went on, Shane became a referee and used the name Shane Stevens. You can spot him from time to time in matches, most notably at the 1989 Survivor Series and the 1991 Royal Rumble. You can also see him as one of the backstage hands to get involved in the WrestleMania VIII match between Randy Savage and Ric Flair. He's also served as a producer, a road agent and also did some commentary for the now-defunct Sunday Night Heat. All the while, he was working his way up the ladder to become the company's legitimate Vice President of Global Media.

4 4. He's A Member Of The "Kiss My Ass" Club

The family battle between the McMahons and Shawn Michaels led to a match at WrestleMania 22 between Vince and HBK. After Michaels got the win, Shane got in the ring in an attempt to humiliate Michaels by having him kiss Vince's bare backside, just as the father and son had done a few weeks earlier. However, Michaels turned the tide this time and buried Shane's face right in his father's ass. Yep, that's how far Shane McMahon will go to please the WWE Universe.

3 3. He is a Savvy Business Man

After 20 years with the WWE, Shane announced his resignation in 2009 to pursue outside ventures. Rumors have popped up that Shane left due to a power struggle between he and his sister Stephanie, who Vince had said would take over the company.

Shane went out and became CEO of YOU on Demand, a PPV like streaming service in China. He remains the Vice President of the Board.

2 2. His Last Match Was In 2009

After once again injecting himself into a family matter, this time against Randy Orton, who had viciously punted Vince in the head as part of the buildup to his WrestleMania match with Triple H. Orton would also assault Stephanie, leading Shane to enter the mix to get revenge. Shane would battle Orton on numerous occasions, including a six-man tag team match at the 2009 version of Backlash. He teamed with Triple H and Batista to take on Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, a match that saw Randy Orton win the WWE Championship. Eight days later on RAW, Shane would get into it once again with Legacy and they would use the steel steps to "break his leg", thus taking Shane off of television until his triumphant return this past Monday.

1 1. He Was Pegged To Run WCW

March 26, 2001 was one of the biggest nights in wrestling history. Vince McMahon had legitimately bought his competition, World Championship Wrestling, and opened that night's RAW with the stunning news. In a stunning turn of events, Shane McMahon would appear on the final episode of WCW's Monday Nitro to reveal that he, not Vince, had signed the contract to purchase the rival company. This was obviously for storyline purposes, but Shane McMahon showing up in Panama City in that ring was one of the most surreal moments the industry has ever seen.

What everyone may not know, was there were plans for Shane to actually run WCW. There were discussion of WWE running WCW on a night other than Monday and keeping the company running with Shane in charge.
