Wrestling fans are extremely passionate. Wrestlers like Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and Jeff Hardy have experienced the overwhelming love that comes with fandom as fans in pro wrestling can elevate a performer to a position he wasn’t originally supposed to obtain. However, if a wrestler or a gimmick sucks, wrestling fans will eat it alive and badly want it gone. This is more about the latter as we explore 15 personalities in wrestling that fans collectively are hoping to forget about as soon as possible for various reasons, but mostly because these wrestlers are tough to watch.

Not all of the wrestlers on this list are bad, as most of them are actually quite talented with something to offer, so this is not a personal attack to all selected. Sadly, some are sabotaged with awful gimmicks or in a position where you can’t help but feel the desire to see them disappear. It’s interesting to see how wrestling has evolved, as many of the talents that fans are sick of would have been bigger successes in prior eras, but just don’t cut the mustard today as fans are more picky, vocal and have higher expectations in terms of who they support.

This list will focus on the current wrestling scene, breaking down WWE talent that fans are looking forward to forgetting about because they’ve been a negative part of the product. Some of these acts make us question why we still love wrestling or even worse, make us change the channel. Hopefully these talents can find a way to alter the tides going against them, but for now these are the wrestlers we just can’t wait to forget about.

15 15. The New Mega Powers

As terrible as it was, at least one good thing came out of Hulk Hogan being exposed and it was the end of the “New Mega Powers” experiment. Curtis Axel impersonating Hulk Hogan and Damien Sandow impersonating Randy Savage would be funny on a second tier independent wrestling show but it was embarrassing to watch in WWE. Neither man have been on television since losing the gimmicks but hopefully they’ll be used in a more effective way going forward. At least WWE is giving us the time to forget this gimmick existed.

14 14. Rosa Mendes

There are very few people to remain employed as long with as little talent as Rosa Mendes in WWE. With very little talent in the ring making her nearly impossible to use as an actual wrestler, Mendes was transitioned into a valet. Rosa would manage Primo & Epico, Fandango and Adam Rose – all acts that completely failed. Even when a part of the Total Divas program, she was among the least entertaining women on the reality show, so her personality is equally as lackluster as her in-ring skill. Mendes is currently off of television due to her pregnancy and we’re quite lucky for it.

13 13. David Otunga

During the original first season of NXT when it was a contest rather than a developmental system, David Otunga was seen by many to be the breakout star despite Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett and Ryback all being on the show. Of course, Otunga proved his supporters wrong as he never became a noteworthy performer in the WWE. Starting with the Nexus to teaming with Curtis Axel, Otunga was awful in the ring and showed no improvement. In an attempt to use his real life status as a legal adviser, Otunga represented John Laurinaitis in some very corny humor segments that didn’t connect. Today he is trying to work as a host on WWE’s pre-show but he’s already having a rough time at it.

12 12. Baron Corbin

Many fans of the current WWE product prefer watching NXT over Raw, Smackdown and PPVs. The show is fresh and features great talent from around the world coming together in an underground atmosphere. The feeling that you’re a part of something special along with the WWE production magic has given fans something different and cool. One NXT star that goes against the premise of what people want in NXT is Baron Corbin. An ex-NFL player, Corbin is pretty slow and limited in the ring and looks completely out of place. NXT shows would be improved without him.

11 11. Cameron

Most known for her appearance on WWE Tough Enough a few years ago, where she claimed Melina vs. Alicia Fox was her favorite wrestling match of all time leaving Steve Austin in bewilderment, Cameron somehow still has a job with WWE. Quite frankly, she is a terrible wrestler with very little potential to improve. As seen on Total Divas, WWE tried to convince Paige to help train Cameron as she badly needs the help and unfortunately for Paige, Cameron expressed laziness and a lack of passion to improve. Cameron is the same woman who didn’t understand how pinfalls work in WWE.

10 10. R-Truth

Likely still in WWE for his veteran presence and impressive work ethic, the time is ticking on R-Truth. Even at his best, Truth wasn’t that great of a wrestler and many would define his skills as perfectly average. As he’s gotten little older, fans just groan when his music plays and he raps to the ring because they know it means a pointless match is coming. What’s more annoying is that every once in a while R-Truth will defeat someone with a higher ceiling such as Wade Barrett or Stardust, which gives more reason for us to want to forget about him.

9 9. The Ascension

As great as NXT can be, one of the fatal flaws with the developmental system is that most of the shows take place in the same venue, which means it’s more or less the same 400 fans attending every TV taping. The lack of varying crowds can make it difficult to tell who is truly over and has what it takes to make it on the main roster. One of the failure stories is The Ascension who completely flopped as soon as they were called up to WWE TV. Lackluster in the ring and using a cheesy outdated gimmick, the tag team can’t be forgotten soon enough.

8 8. Byron Saxton

Not a wrestler but still a WWE performer as a commentator, Byron Saxton has been less than stellar since getting the third headset on Raw. Saxton actually has strengths but he often seems over-matched as JBL and Michael Cole dominate the talking and other announcers like Booker T and Jerry Lawler showcase more enthusiasm. Saxton is also prone to making mistakes or missing important things. Even on NXT, where he does a better job, Saxton didn’t catch Kevin Owens mocking Sami Zayn’s injury in response to "Ole" chants at the recent NXT TakeOver special in Brooklyn, referring to it as a way to embarrass Finn Balor.

7 7. Adam Rose

When Adam Rose introduced his new character in NXT, the gimmick of his party entrance was very popular and created a buzz on the internet, but when he took it to the larger crowds on WWE’s main roster shows, the gimmick was exposed. Rose become one of the least popular wrestlers on the roster and likely caused many fans to turn the channel when he appeared. Realizing it, he has made tweets implying he wants to go back to his old character, Leo Kruger, but as of now, he’s still Adam Rose being repackaged as “The Party Pooper.” Sadly this doesn’t help us forget about it.

6 6. Sin Cara

Even with a wrestler change over the years from Mexican standout Mistico to WWE prospect Hunico, the Sin Cara act is not very good and even worse, it’s hurting his tag team partner Kalisto. Once viewed as a potential star to follow the legend of Rey Mysterio as a WWE masked luchador, Kalisto is being wasted due to the Lucha Dragons tag team, thanks in part to the significantly less impressive Sin Cara. If we could erase him, two birds would be killed with one stone, as Kalisto would be saved and we’d be rid of Sin Cara.

5 5. Alex Riley

It wasn’t too long ago that a lot of fans and people in WWE actually thought Alex Riley would become a star and a big part of the company’s future. Following lackluster matches, Riley’s awkward in ring work was revealed to a larger extent, especially in one specific match with Jack Swagger on Raw. Recently, Riley has worked as a wrestler and commentator in NXT. Seemingly bitter for his lack of success in WWE, Riley tweeted displeasure about Jushin “Thunder” Liger getting booked on a big NXT TakeOver show. Whether it’s his wrestling, announcing or just his tweets, wrestling would be better if we could all forget Alex Riley.

4 4. Tamina

via cagesideseats.com

While there are many flaws with the strategy and booking of the “Divas Revolution” on WWE television, one stands out in the form of a single wrestler. Of the nine divas being called upon to have the division built around, all offer something that stands out in the ring and as a personality except for Tamina. Mostly known for being stronger and doing more powerful moves, Tamina just doesn’t cut it in the ring and is only effective as a bodyguard. With other talent like Bayley, Natalya and Emma not on Raw, it would be wise to replace her as soon as possible.

3 3. Los Matadores

via sportskeeda.com
via sportskeeda.com

Primo has shown signs of ability in the past and Epico isn’t that bad either, but these two guys may have the worst gimmick in all of wrestling. With someone in WWE stuck in 1980s stereotypes, the two currently portray matadors with El Torito as their manager wearing a bull costume. You only see them on television when the company is looking to build a four team tag match because the gimmick can’t get over. Torito is probably the most entertaining aspect of this act and Los Matadores would probably like to forget this gimmick as much as we do.

2 2. Sheamus

via youtube.com
via youtube.com

Sheamus is extremely talented and has something great to offer to WWE, as he’s had many good matches in the past with guys like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and others. The problem is his character work is atrocious and WWE wants to push him higher than fans can stomach seeing him. Whether a face or heel, Sheamus never comes off natural or genuine on the microphone and it always takes away from his in ring strengths. Factor in how he’s holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and can end Seth Rollins title reign at any point and it will lead you to want to forget about the paranoia of another boring Sheamus title run.

1 1. Eva Marie

via dailyddt.com
via dailyddt.com

Speaking of overpushed acts, Eva Marie comes in at #2 on the list. With her stunning physical beauty and mainstream appeal of being a good spokesperson for WWE, the company badly wants her to become a star in the Divas division. The issue is she absolutely sucks at wrestling. Even after training with Brian Kendrick and having hype behind potential improvement, Eva Marie recently forgot to kick out of a pin at 2 and made the referee look stupid when he slowed his count to protect her. She is still pretty terrible in the ring and has the worst version of The Sliced Bread finisher ever seen, as it looks to be in slow motion when Eva does it in real time.
