WrestleMania 37's two-night event brought some fantastic moments and matches together, with a lot of great talent being on display. However, even though it has only been one calendar year between those shows, the WWE roster does look a lot different on the build to WrestleMania 38.

Because of that, there are a lot of wrestlers who were on the card last year that will likely not be involved this time around. Whether that is because they have been released, or that they have simply dropped down the pecking order, these talents will not be involved in the shows this year in Texas.

10 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman Shane McMahon WrestleMania 37

Last year, Braun Strowman was given a featured steel cage match at WrestleMania 37, being one of the top stars in the entire company. However, this time around he is no longer employed by WWE and therefore will not participate on The Grandest Stage Of Them All in any capacity.

He is one of the most surprising names that the company opted to release across the past year. Strowman brought a unique presence that was different from anyone else due to his size and speed combination. WWE had always booked him as a main event worker, but he still got cut.

9 Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon WWE

Interestingly, Braun's WrestleMania 37 opponent will also not be involved on the card this year. Despite the fact that Shane McMahon had been reportedly set for a major match again this year, those plans were all scrapped following the recent Royal Rumble event, where backstage tension has led to Vince letting go of his son.

It is believed that Shane is no longer part of the company and there are no creative plans for him to have a match this time around. Even though he is a draw for the show and someone that older fans can recognize, this year he will not be involved in the event.

8 Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose as NXT Women's Champion Cropped

Mandy Rose made an entrance last year at WrestleMania 37, being involved in a botch on the show as she slipped on her way down to the ring. Mandy competed alongside Dana Brooke as part of the tag team turmoil match in order to earn a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships the next night.

However, it is unlikely that Mandy will be involved in the event this year as she is now part of NXT 2.0. Rose has been a huge star on that show, becoming NXT Women's Champion, and her attention will be on that. There is set to be a big NXT event that weekend, and Rose will likely be competing on that card instead.

7 Ruby Riott

Ruby Soho AEW Debut All Out 2021

Ruby Riott was also involved in the tag team turmoil match, with her and Liv Morgan being the final duo eliminated. While Liv has risen up and become a major star in the women's division, Ruby did not have the same luck. Instead, she was released by the company despite all of her experience and skills.

However, Ruby landed on her feet by becoming part of AEW's women's roster as Ruby Soho. She has thrived working for the company, with Tony Khan making her one of the most important members on the roster, and that is why she will not be at WrestleMania 38.

6 John Morrison

WWE John Morrison

John Morrison was in a featured tag team match at WrestleMania 37 last year in a major celebrity encounter. However, even though he had a big spot and is someone that has had a long-standing career, he is no longer part of the company. WWE has since released him, which is going to rule him out of appearing this time around.

Morrison is unlikely to have a 'Mania match again in his career, meaning that WrestleMania 37 might have been his final appearance on The Grandest Stage Of Them All. Unless he ends up having a third run with the company, which seems unlikely.

5 Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny Crossbody

Bad Bunny competed against John Morrison and The Miz last year alongside Damian Priest, and while his tag partner should make the card, he will not. The musician wowed everyone with his moves and ability, and fans would be more than happy to see him return to the ring at some point.

He was a brilliant celebrity performer, and he has since returned to be involved at the Royal Rumble this year. However, that surprise appearance is not going to lead to another WrestleMania match. While it would be good to see, Bad Bunny is actually on tour when the shows are on this time around.

4 Tamina

Tamina Superfly Splash

At WrestleMania 37 Tamina had not just one, but two matches on the show. She and Natalya teamed up to win the tag team turmoil on night one, and then they challenged for the Women's Tag Team Championships the night after. However, at this point in time, she is no longer a featured part of the roster.

Tamina has slipped back down the card once more, and it is unlikely she will be getting a spot on the show this time around. While she could find herself in a pre-show battle royal, there will not be a big moment like there was in Florida last year.

3 Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews

Much like Tamina, Apollo Crews is someone who has simply fallen down the card over the past year and is no longer a featured act. While he might be involved if the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal returns, it is highly unlikely that he will be getting a singles or tag team match on the show.

Last year he was involved in a Nigerian drum fight against Big E, with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. This led to Commander Azeez making his debut, but following that, the two men haven't kicked on, and they are rarely featured.

2 The Fiend

Bray Wyatt WWE

Heading into WrestleMania 37, The Fiend was one of the biggest names in the company. WWE invested a lot into him, and he had a featured singles match against Randy Orton on the show. However, he will not be involved in WrestleMania 38 at all due to the fact he has been released by WWE.

The company surprisingly cut ties with Bray Wyatt in one of many cuts over the past 12 months. Despite the fact he has been a top star throughout his entire run with WWE, he was let go. Because of that, he will not be getting a spot on the show this time around.

1 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan Enters WrestleMania 37 Cropped

At WrestleMania 37, Daniel Bryan was competing in the main event of the second night in a triple threat match with Edge and Roman Reigns. However, times have truly changed for him because Bryan is no longer part of the company despite being one of the biggest stars in wrestling.

Instead, Bryan is now working for AEW, and that rules him out of participating this time around. He is one of the biggest losses from the roster in terms of star power and match quality. There's no doubt Vince McMahon would have liked having him on the show if possible, but instead, Bryan will be busy working for Tony Khan.
