Triple H is the man who's largely responsible for building up the NXT brand, so it'd be somewhat fitting if he stood in their corner at Survivor Series this Sunday.
This year's Survivor Series pay-per-view will be the first one to include NXT superstars. We'll see Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown vs. Team NXT in men's and women's elimination tag matches.
The members for the 5-women and 5-men teams have yet to be announced. Many wonder if The Game would join Team NXT in the men's 5-on-5-on-5 showdown, since he's the key man behind the brand's success.
According to WrestleVotes, the WWE creative team does indeed want Triple H to be part of Team NXT. However, the Cerebral Assassin reportedly doesn't have the desire to be involved in the match.
Hearing that over the past few weeks there has been a push from creative to have Triple H as a member of Team NXT in the men’s elimination match. That idea has been met w/ mixed reactions, including that of The Game. I’m told he does NOT want to be part of the match this Sunday.— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) November 18, 2019
It's possible that Triple H would simply rather let five other NXT superstars, since they could use the spotlight and exposure more than him. For all we know, he's just putting the NXT talents before himself here.
Triple H didn't wrestle at Survivor Series last year, but he was part of Team Raw two years ago in the 5-on-5 elimination tag match. He was instrumental in leading his squad to victory over Team SmackDown.
Triple H Should Still Join Team NXT
It'd be a classy gesture on Triple H's end if he simply chose to allow five NXT superstars to wrestle. But it would make great sense if Triple H represented the team that he's built up for several years, and having a wrestling icon like him would only make the match even more exciting.
