Triple H is one of the most polarizing people in the history of the wrestling industry due to his backstage reputation. 10 The Undertaker

The Undertaker and Triple H were not always close friends during their long runs together in WWE. Shawn Michaels often clashed with Undertaker and the friends of Michaels had the same heat with the legend. Undertaker, however, would grow to become close with Triple H as he became his own man backstage.

Triple H revealed that Undertaker was the one that gave him support in the locker room when he was feeling the heat for dating Stephanie McMahon. They would become good friends as the years went by and worked together at three different WrestleMania events.

9 Kevin Owens

One of the active talents to become friends with Triple H is Kevin Owens. Not many could have predicted this a decade ago when Owens was making his name on the independent circuit. Triple H was the tie-breaking vote to hire Owens to NXT when others were not sold on his look.

Owens has gone out of his way to praise and credit Triple H for a lot of the help in WWE. An overseas tour would see Triple H replace Owens when the latter was dealing with a family issue, but Triple H reportedly turned down the talent pay and demanded it get sent to Owens even though he missed the dates.

8 Kurt Angle

The backstage relationship between Triple H and Kurt Angle was not always great when they feuded in 2000. Triple H reportedly shut down a storyline ending that was to feature Stephanie McMahon ending up with Angle in their love triangle. The argument from Triple H was that no one would buy someone leaving him for Angle.

Triple H’s role in management would see him as the one to broker a deal to bring Angle back to the company and into the Hall of Fame. The two got along more this time around and seemed to have in their newer feud. Angle and Ronda Rousey vs Triple H and Stephanie stole the show at WrestleMania 34.

7 Henry Godwinn

One of the first singles feuds in WWE for Triple H featured him facing off with Henry Godwinn. The latter had a comedic gimmick of a pig farmer often attempting to dump slop on his opponents. Triple H and Godwinn would have a Hog Pen match as one of the more embarrassing matches of the mid-90s.

The career of Triple H would skyrocket as Godwinn eventually got released from the company. They became friends when working together which led to Triple H trying to help him out. Godwinn received a few try out matches and returned under a developmental contract. Despite Triple H helping him out, Godwinn couldn’t impress to return to television.

6 Diamond Dallas Page

Diamond Dallas Page was one of the first friends of Triple H in the wrestling business before the latter joined WWE. Triple H made a handful of friends in WCW with DDP often offering him advice or help. They remained close throughout the years despite rarely working together.

Triple H has played a role in Page developing a good relationship with WWE in recent years. DDP has even been brought into the Performance Center to help showcase the benefits of his yoga program to the younger wrestlers.

5 X-Pac

X-Pac was the one member of the Kliq to have some tension with Triple H after leaving WWE. The relationship between X-Pac and Chyna saw him dating Triple H’s ex-girlfriend while throwing insults at him in interviews in the early 2000s.

Triple H forgave X-Pac and didn’t take things personal when he was dealing with his personal demons. Once X-Pac started to clean up his life, Triple H would bring him back into the WWE family with the DX reunions and the recent induction into the Hall of Fame. Recent reports have featured X-Pac helping out at the Performance Center with the potential of becoming a coach soon.

4 Sheamus

The friendship between Triple H and Sheamus would see Sheamus gain heat backstage for his bond with such a powerful person. Triple H loved the work ethic of Sheamus, and they became training partners at the gym when on the road together for house show loops.

Sheamus even received a WrestleMania program with Triple H as the company tried to push him harder. The main event run of Sheamus never worked out, but he did gain a close friendship with Triple H throughout the early years of his WWE career.

3 Chris Jericho

Triple H and Chris Jericho clashed right away when Jericho joined WWE in 1999. Many of the WWE wrestlers viewed performers coming over from WCW as the enemy and Triple H certainly treated Jericho like that. One of the stories in Jericho’s book claimed that Triple H hung the phone up on him when asking for directions to a venue.

The two clashed for many years until finally making peace when Triple H became part of management. Jericho revealed they were even friends now and neither had any clue how they could have disliked each other given their interests. Triple H and Jericho were spotted hanging out at Ric Flair’s 70th birthday party despite working for opposing promotions now.

2 Goldberg

Goldberg is another former enemy of Triple H to make peace in recent years. The two never liked each other with shots being exchanged in interviews during the Monday Night Wars. Triple H even cursed out someone on the reality series Tough Enough for having a Goldberg poster up.

They had a disappointing feud in 2003 that essentially crushed Goldberg’s chances of a top spot. Triple H was more accommodating during Goldberg’s 2016 return and helped him have a great stint. WWE cameras even showed them having a great time together following Goldberg’s WrestleMania 33 match on WWE 24.

1 William Regal

The friendship between Triple H and William Regal is one that was not documented for most of the 2000s, but it has become more apparent in recent years. Regal and Triple H teamed together in WCW before Triple H made the move to join WWE for his dream job.

The two remained close throughout the years. Regal was one of the groomsmen at Triple H’s wedding with some of the more obvious choices like Shawn Michaels and Shane McMahon. Triple H trusted Regal enough to make him his right-hand man in setting up the Performance Center and NXT which has led to tremendous results.
