WWE COO Triple H has extended an invite to both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor to appear on Monday Night Raw ahead of their fight in August.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather and MMA star Conor McGregor are finally on a collision course after months of speculating and negotiation. The two will face off inside in the ring on August 26th, and clearly WWE want a piece of the pie. This week, Triple H gave his thoughts on the upcoming super fight and even offered an open invitation to the competitors to appear on Monday Night Raw before they clash later this summer.
Triple H has been back in the United Kingdom this week, a place he has frequented regularly since he helped put together the UK Championship tournament earlier this year. The Cerebral Assassin made an appearance on Sky Sports News during his latest visit and it was there that he discussed Mayweather versus McGregor during an interview. The Game stated that the two mega stars were more than welcome to both appear on Monday Night Raw, and that it would be a great stage to showcase exactly what they can do.
The upcoming fight between Mayweather and McGregor wasn't all that Triple H had the chance to talk about with Sky Sports. During the eight minute interview The Game also covered the controversy surrounding the Women's Money In The Bank match, as well as the upcoming bout between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe.
If Floyd Mayweather were to accept the invite of Triple H it wouldn't be the first time that the boxer has done business with WWE. Floyd actually has a WrestleMania win to his name from back in 2008 when he defeated Big Show, and broke the big man's nose in the build to their blockbuster match up. McGregor on the other hand may not be so welcome in the Raw locker room. A little under a year ago the Irishman took to Twitter to say exactly what he thought of WWE performers, and that he could 'slap the head off' the entire roster.
While the idea of having McGregor and Mayweather appear on WWE television together is unquestionably appealing, it isn't something that's likely to happen. Between now and their fight on August 26th both men's schedules will be absolutely jam packed with training and promotional appearances. On the other hand it would make sense if they could get it done as it would bring a lot of wrestling fans' eyeballs to their upcoming fight, eyeballs that otherwise might not be tuning in come the end of August.
