Triple H and The Shield have had quite the history together, but no one would ever expect to see Triple H wear the riot gear. As a leader of The Authority, The Game reunited the Evolution faction with Batista and Randy Orton in 2014, hoping to take down The Shield once and for all.
When that didn't go as planned, Batista quit the WWE, and Triple H was able to get Seth Rollins to leave his alliance and join the dark side. As everyone remembers, Rollins screwed him over in a Universal Championship match last year, though The Architect got his revenge at WrestleMania 33 by pinning The Game.
But could an unexpected friendship begin with Triple H and The Shield? With Roman Reigns sidelined with the mumps, anything is possible. A number of Twitter users posted this shocking development during a show on the WWE's European Tour stop in Glasgow.
Afterwards, The Cerebral Assassin posted this intriguing thank you tweet to Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
Could this be? Is The Game about to join sides with The Shield?
There are no details at the moment regarding whether or not Triple H really will join the faction that brought down the Evolution revival. If anything else, it's more likely he's simply a fill-in until Reigns is medically cleared and returns to the ring.
A couple of weeks ago, Triple H joined the SmackDown tour in South America, replacing Kevin Owens who had to leave for personal reasons. It's hard to envision a scenario where he returns full-time to television to help out The Shield, as it would leave Reigns in the dark.
Assuming it was a one-time thing to see Triple H with the Shield, it at least had to make a great show for the fans in Glasgow. Whether or not this leads to a future storyline remains to be seen.
