Triple H and Roman Reigns provided fans with one of the longest and more entertaining feuds for two years. It started with The Shield taking down Evolution and disbanding the historic faction, and it ended with Reigns defeating Triple H to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 32.
Well, it appears as though their rivalry is about to be rekindled. The Game tweeted this big announcement on Tuesday evening:
Fans in Abu Dhabi (the capital city of the United Arab Emirates) are in for quite a treat, as these two wrestling stars will face off one-on-one for the first time in 19 months.
Triple H has been far more active in the ring over the past couple of weeks. With Kevin Owens leaving WWE's tour in South America back in October, Triple H suited up and defeated Rusev in a house show. He also joined The Shield during a show in Glasgow, where they defeated Bray Wyatt, Cesaro and Sheamus.
On this week's episode of Raw, The Cerebral Assassin was also named the final member of Team Raw, after Wyatt attacked and "injured" Jason Jordan - whom Triple H replaced.
Being the son-in-law of Vince McMahon (arguably Reigns' biggest supporter), Triple H has had no problem trying to help put Reigns over. He let The Shield beat his Evolution crew cleanly twice. Triple H also dropped the belt to Reigns at WrestleMania 32, and didn't appear on television for months.
But Triple H returned during a four-way elimination match for the WWE Universal Championship. He pedigreed both Reigns and Seth Rollins which helped Kevin Owens win the title.
Reigns essentially put an end to The Authority storyline by taking down Triple H on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Now, The Game gets (at least) one more chance to take down the Roman Empire himself.
