Despite losing the match, Triple H, who teamed up with Stephanie Mcmahon, his wife, in a Mixed Tag Team Match against Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans during Wrestlemania 34, says that the experience was memorable.
During a WWE FYC (For Your Consideration) event in North Hollywood, Triple H, commented, "There's a picture of me out front from WrestleMania this year. I noticed when I walked in today. And, what I noticed about the picture, with HD television and camera work now, I noticed that it's a shot of Steph and I from WrestleMania, and my legs are covered with goosebumps."
"I immediately took a snapshot of it and sent it to The Rock to say, 'dude, look at my legs’. We used to talk about this all the time, the passion for what we do when you have that moment in front of 80,000 people where your whole body, it's electric,” he added. "There's no other way to describe it, but it just goes into automatic and you're covered with goosebumps and it's just this insane adrenaline thing. Rock sent me a note back like two seconds later and was like, ‘Oh my God. If it wouldn't be totally weird, I would blow this up right now and put this on my trailer wall as an inspiration’.”
WWE had hoped to pair The Rock with Rousey at WrestleMania since he had helped her build a rivalry against Triple H and McMahon after defeating them at WrestleMania 31. However, The Rock was unable to attend this year’s event.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, who wed in 2003, have three daughters, Aurora Rose, born in 2006, Murphy Claire, born in 2008, and Vaughn Evelyn, born in 2010. His marriage into the McMahon family led to his role as Executive Vice President, Talent and Live events in 2011. He is responsible for talent relations and development management, and performer recruitment and training. Though his position has been frequently criticized by fans and other wrestlers, his willingness to lose in high-profile matches has helped launch the careers of young wrestlers, such as, John Cena, Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns.
McMahon, who began her career as a receptionist at WWE in 1998, has been the company’s Chief Brand Officer since 2013. She’s responsible for maintaining the brand’s reputation among investors, media, business partners, and advertisers. She also manages the marketing of mom and kids initiatives. Triple H and McMahon may potentially take over WWE after Vince and Linda McMahon step down.
