Triple H is one of the few wrestlers to have such a legendary career last that long. Many memorable rivals include the amazing work against The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley and The Rock. However, his career lasting that long means there have been a few others to fly under the radar and make even the diehard fan forget about.

10 The Ultimate Warrior

The feud between Triple H and the Ultimate Warrior built to a match at WrestleMania 12. Warrior showed zero interest in selling for Triple H and squashed him within a couple of minutes. WWE hoped to make Triple H a bigger star from working with a legend like Warrior.

Triple H cut most promos on his own trying to build the interest for Warrior shutting him up. The match saw the feud end with Triple H looking foolish. Warrior’s career ended in fascinating fashion when he brought Warrior back to get inducted in the Hall of Fame all these years later.

9 Curtis Axel

Curtis Axel

Paul Heyman becoming Curtis Axel's manager turned him into a hotter commodity on the main roster. Axel faced off with Triple H of all the people on Raw, with a few matches to create their rivalry. Triple H’s health was the story as he couldn’t continue to compete in multiple matches.

Axel did win the Intercontinental Championship shortly after the Triple H feud, but fans still didn’t take him seriously. WWE kept Axel with Heyman’s new client Ryback as a tag team before just giving up on him once the alliance ended.

8 Eugene

Eugene

Triple H losing the World Championship to Chris Benoit and failing in a few rematches forced him to work with someone new. Randy Orton challenging Benoit at Summerslam placed Triple H into a lower tier program with Eugene.

Triple H tried to manipulate Eugene's fanboy tendencies until that no longer benefited him, which served as the stepping stone to their clash. Eugene and Triple H had a lackluster match at the second biggest show of 2004, which did little for either man as Eugene fell lower down the card afterwards.

7 Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr.

legacy

Randy Orton was an obvious fan of Triple H, but the other members of Legacy worked closely with The Game afterwards. Triple H and Shawn Michaels reformed D-Generation X to enter a heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.

The variety of the feud would see the Submission match and Hell in a Cell match involved in the series. Legacy won a match over the legends to get momentum before ultimately losing the feud. Triple H clearly saw something special in Rhodes and DiBiase to work that closely with them.

6 Vladimir Kozlov

WWE tried to force Vladimir Kozlov into the main event by having him feud with Triple H. Kozlov had little momentum, but his physical size and presence had WWE wanting him to contend for the WWE Championship. Triple H struggled immensely to have fun matches with him.

Kozlov clearly was still green and it resulted in the audience heckling his matches against Triple H. Jeff Hardy and Edge getting added saved some of their matches, but the results showed Kozlov wasn’t ready. WWE eventually gave up and made him a comedic face for the rest of his run.

5 Hulk Hogan

Triple H Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan’s incredible WrestleMania 18 performance vs The Rock caused WWE to change major plans moving forward. Triple H was the unlucky one to see his WWE Championship reign only last a few weeks before dropping it to Hogan.

WWE tried to create another dream match scenario of Hogan facing a new top WWE star like he did with Rock. The appeal of Hogan vs Triple H had less hype and their match was hard to watch. Hogan defeated Triple H and had his final WWE Championship reign in WWE.

4 Henry Godwinn

The Godwinns

One of the first extended feuds for Triple H saw him feuding with Henry Godwinn in the mid-90s. Godwinn played a pig farmer character as the polar opposite of Triple H’s wealthy snob gimmick. The two faced off on a few occasions, with little to no fanfare to speak of.

Godwinn and Triple H had their biggest fight come with the stipulation of a Hog Pen match. Triple H clearly was in a terrible position at the time, but he kept working to find bigger opportunities. This feud shows that a career is never completely doomed if still on the roster.

3 Umaga

umaga

The rivalry between Triple H and Umaga created one of the most underrated feuds of his career. Umaga was gaining momentum as a heel and became a credible opponent for Triple H. The two feuded over a few months with solid matches each time.

A memorable night of Triple H wrestling three times saw him defeat Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, defend it against Umaga and lose it back to Orton later. The Umaga match was actually the best of the three, despite few even remembering it taking place.

2 Sgt. Slaughter

slaughter

Sgt. Slaughter was the WWE Commissioner and the biggest rival to D-Generation X in the early years. Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Chyna saw Slaughter trying to end their hijinks and facing off with tougher opponents to humble them.

Slaughter eventually made his return to the ring for a Boot Camp match with Triple H. The two delivered a great deal of violence on each other, with weapons to even things out and make up for Slaughter’s older age. Triple H scoring the win was huge for his career and his ascension with D-Generation X.

1 Carlito

Carlito with Torrie Wilson

WWE tried to push Carlito into the upper card picture one more time in his career. Triple H feuded with Carlito using elements of reality for their promos. Carlito’s reputation for being lazy and unmotivated backstage was used on television with Triple H calling him out in promos.

Instead of Carlito coming off like a bigger star, Triple H was the one that struggled in the smaller role. Their matches never clicked and Carlito never had another opportunity at that level again. Triple H clearly didn’t enjoy working with Carlito since it hurt his status at the time.
