After WWE announced that the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, there is a new rumor floating around that Texans Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels will be making an appearance at the event.
Both last showed up at WrestleMania 32 along with Mick Foley in Dallas and with the Rumble pay-per-view expected to break attendance records (seating up to 65,000 fans), the two legends' possible appearances are expected to help with that as well as build up the road to WrestleMania 33 even more.
At this point, an appearance from HBK isn't concrete though he's expected to be involved in some capacity as it's in his hometown. As for Austin though, there seems to be more substance in the rumors and it would be fitting for him to make a return to the arena where he won his first Royal Rumble 20 years earlier.
Additionally, the WWE also wants The Undertaker back for the event, but at last word, 'Taker was still adamant that WrestleMania 32 was his last match. We'll see if WWE can bring back all three Texans for the event.
Would you be happy with this and what role would you expect them to have?
