[UPDATE] WWE Announced that Roman Reigns will actually tape part in the Shield's official reunion match on Raw instead. Full Story Here.
Tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw comes with a lot of hype, given how it's the final show before Survivor Series this Sunday. There is still plenty of building up to do for some of the matches, and we await to see if Team Raw will get its revenge after Team SmackDown took them "under siege" three weeks ago.
But it appears as though the fans in Atlanta will really be getting their money's worth tonight. According to Ryan Clark of eWrestlingNews.com, Philips Arena has already advertised two big matches - Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a Street Fight, plus Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro and Sheamus, who will defend their recently re-acquired Raw Tag Team Championships.
However, Clark noted that "WWE.com’s official RAW preview isn’t listing either match so it’s likely they are just dark matches." Clark did say that could change though.
Assuming these matches occur, it would mean The Shield will be more than ready for their reunion against The New Day at Survivor Series - a match that PWInsider.com reported is expected to take place.
That means we should expect Cesaro and Sheamus to retain the titles, as they're currently set to face The Usos who are the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Having Rollins and Ambrose win the belts would mean they'd have to face The Usos, and as a result, the expected Shield vs. New Day match would be scrapped.
As for Reigns and Strowman, their long-standing rivalry will have another chapter added to it. Strowman turned babyface at TLC after Team Miz betrayed The Monster Among Men and dumped him in a garbage truck. It'll be interesting to see how the match goes, given how both are now babyfaces.
For us fans who aren't attending the live show, we can only hope these two matches do happen on television. They're too intriguing to be nothing more than dark matches.
