The history of mixed tag matches in WWE have seen some fascinating duos team up. Some of the more memorable tag teams to participate in those matches include Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, Edge and Lita, and even Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. We will look at some duos that could have been great together in mixed tag team action. The teams range from couples to friends to other forms of bonds between them. Each team could be quite fun to watch if they were able to team together at some point. Find out just which duos should have been featured in WWE at some point. These are ten dream mixed tag teams we have never seen.

10 Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey

The star power of Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey each sees them getting huge pushes any time they appear on WWE television. Both athletes have a strong legitimacy behind them given the history of massive success as MMA fighters in the UFC.

Rousey has a close relationship with Paul Heyman that had many speculating if they would work together on-screen. A potential mixed tag team match would see Heyman representing the most intimidating duo in WWE history of Rousey and Lesnar teamed up.

9 Bray Wyatt and Paige

Past rumors had many fans and pundits speculating if there would be a reveal of the Sister Abigail character Bray Wyatt mentioned in his promos. The idea of a female wrestler getting added to the Wyatt Family as the leader may have added an element to make it more successful.

Paige was among the popular names that fans wanted to see in the role. The older mysterious elements of her character along with the general star presence could have made her a perfect addition. Given her retirement due to injury, the chances of Wyatt teaming with Paige appear to be over.

8 Aleister Black and Zelina Vega

One active real-life couple that has never worked together on the same team is Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. They were rivals on NXT when Vega managed Andrade against Black in a feud for the NXT Championship. Zelina’s interference would see them get physical on a few occasions.

The two would start dating around this time and eventually got married. Black and Vega’s relationship has been referenced on the WWE Network show Ride Along. It is unlikely they will team together any time soon given their drastically different characters.

7 Daniel Bryan and Nikki Bella

Daniel Bryan and his wife Brie Bella have teamed together on a few occasions. However, he has yet to have a straight 2 vs 2 mixed tag match teaming with his sister in law. Nikki Bella and Bryan have a fun love/hate relationship on Total Divas that could provide entertainment on the WWE shows.

Bryan helped Nikki train throughout the past few years to improve her skills in the ring. A match with the two of them teaming could be quite entertaining. As much as Brie tried to improve, Nikki was the better in-ring worker which may provide success teaming with Bryan.

6 Alexa Bliss and Buddy Murphy

The duo of Alexa Bliss and Buddy Murphy used to date for many years before the romance ended. Bliss did team with Murphy and his former tag team partner Wesley Blake in NXT. However, the duo of Bliss and Murphy never teamed in a mixed tag match.

Murphy is among the most underrated wrestlers on the main roster today after having outstanding performances against Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Between his talent and the massive success of Bliss, the two would have been a perfect mixed match tag duo in the past.

5 Stephanie and Shane McMahon

Vince McMahon decided to make WWE a true family business when having his son Shane and daughter Stephanie become on-air characters during the Attitude Era. The siblings would both work together and feud against each other at different points in their careers.

There was one instance of them planning to team together in 2000, but the match never got started. Shane and Stephanie never teaming together for a real match is a bit surprising. The selling point of seeing both McMahon kids taking a beating in the ring as heels may have been a dream angle for some.

4 Charlotte Flair and Ric Flair

It will be hard to ever find another father and daughter wrestling couple as successful as Charlotte Flair and Ric Flair. The iconic run of Ric made him arguably the most influential wrestler in WWE history. Charlotte already has an argument for the greatest female star in WWE history after just four years on the main roster.

Ric was unfortunately too old to compete by the time Charlotte became a wrestler in NXT. The potential of them working together in a mixed tag match may have drawn a lot of money. Fans would have popped huge for the visual of dual figure-four leglocks.

3 Shawn Michaels and Sensational Sherri

The pairing of Sensational Sherri Martel with Shawn Michaels helped him get over as a singles heel star after he turned on former partner Marty Jannetty to end The Rockers. Sherri primarily just served as a manager that would get involved in matches but never directly wrestled in them.

The heel duo received huge heat that could have made them a stronger act if mixed tag matches were a thing in WWE during the early 90s. Michaels and Sherri did wrestle against each other on a few occasions in AWA tag matches, but they sadly never teamed together in WWE.

2 Rey Mysterio and Sasha Banks

The two main wrestling heroes for Sasha Banks growing up were Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. Given her smaller size and in-ring style, Banks and Mysterio have a lot in common. The inspiration of Rey is clearly seen in Sasha’s work and her fearless approach to the art.

WWE has both wrestlers on the roster, but they are in different roles on different shows. The hope of them eventually teaming together one day could be there. Banks and Mysterio as a mixed tag team would create huge popularity among fans loving their styles meshing together.

1 Edge and Beth Phoenix

Edge and Beth Phoenix did not become a known relationship in the wrestling world until they retired. Both wrestlers had enough singles success to become Hall of Famers on their own. However, it would have been a blast to watch them team-up together at least once.

Two of the all-time great performers in their respective divisions working together will almost always lead to success. Given the recent rumors of Edge’s potential return and their past twitter beef, Edge and Beth vs Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch is still a dream match that is hanging on by a thread.
