Update On Shane McMahon's WrestleMania 33 Opponent

According to inquisitr.com, the WWE has changed direction for Shane McMahon's WrestleMania opponent. Original plans had Shane taking on Brock Lesnar, as a feud had been teased following Lesnar's SummerSlam match against Randy Orton and subsequent attack on Shane.

With Goldberg now in the fold to presumably take on Lesnar in a Survivor Series rematch at WrestleMania, plans for Shane have changed. The WWE is now building to a Shane McMahon/Dean Ambrose match for 'Mania in Orlando.

As we've seen on SmackDown, there is now tension between Shane and Ambrose, due to The Lunatic Fringe nearly costing team SmackDown the victory at Survivor Series.

In addition to the match, the report also suggests Ambrose could turn heel for the match to give it spark.

The main reason for the possible matchup is due to there not being enough opponents for Ambrose once his feud with AJ Styles ends. There's also a rumored upcoming matchup of Ambrose vs. James Ellsworth, but obviously that isn't WrestleMania worthy.
