Ric Flair scared the wrestling world when he was placed in a medically induced coma and taken into surgery. Now, he's out of the coma and resting, but word is he still has a long way to go.
“[Flair] was in a lot of pain and he was taken in on Saturday morning to the hospital,” says Meltzer. “He was put in a medically induced coma, his situation was real bad and he had colon surgery this morning and he got through the surgery. He’s not out of the water yet — I believe he’s on kidney dialysis now.”

He went on to explain that Flair's situation worsened throughout the day, which is when fans saw tweets from the Nature Boy's representatives along with Michael PS Hayes stating the legend's health did not look good.

I can assure that he needs everyone's prayers and positive vibes. Thx in advance!!
"Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues," tweeted Melinda Morris Zanoni.
Obviously, this caused a lot of confusion as Flair's hospital visit was originally reported as routine. It was shortly after that reports of Flair being placed in a medically induced coma surfaced, and not long after, he was sent to surgery. It wasn't until Jimmy Vann of Fightful.com revealed the surgery wasn't heart related.
Oddly enough, there was no real information regarding what Flair's surgery was for, though "Mean" Gene Okerlund shed a bit of light on the situation (even if it wasn't intentional).
Regardless, the lack of details left fans on edge. Many asked Zanoni for more details, though she declined to comment. What she did reveal was that the surgery was not heart-related, which is what was originally reported.
Regardless, wrestling fans across the globe are sending all their positive thoughts Ric Flair's way, and his daughter Charlotte took to social media to thank everyone for their well-wishes.
“Hi guys, On behalf of my family and I, we want to THANK everyone for the prayers, texts, calls and support,” posted the former women's champion on Instagram. “Our Dad is a FIGHTER and your continued thoughts and prayers MEAN THE WORLD to us.
We will update everyone when we have more information."
The last time Ric Flair was seen in a WWE ring, he was working a program with Charlotte where he helped her retain her Women's Championship, though it ended after Charlotte dropped her father, stating she didn't need his help. Though it was relatively short lived, seeing the two Flairs working together was fun for fans, and it helped solidify Charlotte as a top talent in the WWE.
