On top of that, he was hospitalized for six months after suffering an infection as he underwent surgery to replace both knees. He put up a fight for over a decade and even talked about getting back into the wrestling, but Vader's body sadly gave out this time. It's a sad day for the industry, as Vader was among the most lovable and passionate workers to ever step foot in a ring, and he was always one to show the affection he had for his fans. Vader's wrestling career began in the American Wrestling Association in 1985, before he moved over to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Vader would win three IWGP Heavyweight Championships with the promotion. He would later move over to WCW - feuding with other legends like Sting and Ric Flair.
