A former WWE Superstar showed up at the AEW tapings for AEW Dark on Wednesday and it was later announced she'd be part of the commentary team for the YouTube show.

Vickie Guerrero was backstage at AEW Dynamite on Wednesday and then got a rousing round of cheers when she showed up in front of the live AEW crowd to take her seat the announce table. Like Taz before her, it appears AEW has brought in a former WWE performer to be part of the YouTube show that airs matches that don't make the regular two-hour program on Wednesdays.

Guerrero isn’t under contract with WWE, so her ability to show up isn't odd. What has caught a few people off guard is why.

Social media was full of comments about Guerrero's appearance wondering why, of all the people AEW might have chosen that worked with WWE, would they choose Guerrero? Some of the comments weren't kind saying they would skip the show, but that might have been ignorance speaking considering what fans are used to is the Vickie character she was asked to portray on WWE programming.

A star who never got enough credit for being one of the better talkers in WWE, she was able to make the phrase, “Excuse me!” and household catchphrase for a lot of WWE fans. If you'd heard that, you knew as a fan, you were about to be annoyed.

Is This A One Time Thing?

There is no report on whether or not AEW will be using her again in the future or if this is a one time thing but Taz has worked with AEW on more than one occasion since he did something similar.

Hopefully AEW doesn't actually see a drop in viewers because of the decision. She might be a lot better at the gig than people are giving her credit for.
