Vince McMahon has never been afraid to quickly put an end to the push of a popular up-and-coming superstar, having done so with the likes of Cedric Alexander and Finn Balor, among others.

Now, it unfortunately sounds like he's no longer interested in pushing 24-year-old Humberto Carrillo - who was pitted in a feud with United States Champion AJ Styles for several weeks.

This is according to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), who reported that McMahon "is done with Humberto Carrillo for the time being." Alvarez noted that Carrillo will still appear on television, but McMahon is putting an end to the push, believing that "he wasn't getting over."

Carrillo moved to the Monday Night Raw brand in last month's WWE draft, and he entered a program with Styles - one of WWE's premier main event superstars. He lost a United States Championship match to Styles at the Crown Jewel, but it was at least a sign that WWE was invested in pushing Carrillo in the immediate future.

It's well-known by now that Vince and son-in-law Triple H often disagree when it comes to which superstars deserve pushes. The WWE chairman has often displayed his refusal and unwillingness to stay patient with NXT Talents, and it looks to be that way once again, this time with Carrillo.

Carrillo deserves to at least stay in the mid-card division, and he should continue to feud with Styles and The OC. But how much Vince plans to use Carrillo going forward remains to be seen.

Vince Has To Change His Ways

There's a long list of popular superstars that WWE fans want in the main event picture. This includes Balor, Nakamura, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. But Vince continues to mostly do it his way, rather than give the fans what they want. Even if Carrillo were to not get over with the fans, he at least deserved more time to prove himself. If Vince is truly about to end his push, let's hope that Carrillo will get another major opportunity down the road.
