Luke Harper is reportedly still at odds with WWE after Vince McMahon opted to extend his contract and the chairman is reportedly against putting him on TV.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we might not be seeing Harper on TV anytime soon as Vince does not see any value in having him on right now. Meltzer noted as much on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The WWE insider suggested that the 39-year-old is being paid to stay at home and fans might not be seeing him in the ring moving forward.

Harper angered WWE earlier this year by revealing he requested a release from the company.

"As of this evening, I have requested a release from WWE," he posted on Instagram on April 16. "The past 6 years have been a simply, amazing journey around the world and back with lifelong friends and family. I am proud of it all and proud to say that I shared the ring with my co-workers."

In a weird turn of events, though, the company declined his request to move on and instead tacked six months onto his contract for the time he spent away as a result of injury.

His initial deal was supposed to expire this fall and he would have been out pretty soon. Instead, he won't be able to walk away until April next year. AEW was likely a possibility for the performer but WWE has decided to frustrate him by making him wait several months.

Vince Is Still Paying Him, Though

On the bright side, Luke is still collecting a cheque every month but it must be annoying being unable to do what he loves until he is freed from the terms of a contract.

It's certainly possible that WWE could use him for lower-card matches before he's completely finished, but that's left to time to tell.
