It sounds like the WWE’s recent pay-per-view, No Mercy, was a success. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was very happy with the outcome of the two headliner matches of John Cena vs. Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman, according to Wrestling Inc.

The goal was to give the fans two WrestleMania quality matches, and they certainly lived up to that billing without any controversial endings, which is always nice.  WWE certainly went above and beyond with the matches at No Mercy, since it’s not a big-time pay-per-view like SummerSlam or WrestleMania.

The results of the two main events clearly revealed WWE's plans leading into WrestleMania. Of course, Lesnar and Reigns were victorious in their respective bouts, and it appears the two will clash at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. It also looks like the plan is for Reigns to then defeat Lesnar to become the top wrestler in the WWE. This makes a lot of sense after he went through a grueling 22-minute match with John Cena at No Mercy.

When it comes to Lesnar’s immediate future, rumors suggest his next two feuds will be with Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, but with the two currently locked in their own storylines, it will be interesting to see how WWE weaves them into a story with Lesnar.

Outside of the main event bouts, the Raw Tag Team Title match where Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins defeated Cesaro, Sheamus in an effort to retain their belts was fantastic. What gave the match more flair was Cesaro's nasty injury when he hit his face off the ring post.  While many thought his teeth were hit out of his mouth, they were actually jammed further into his jaw. The WWE even posted a video on YouTube of Cesaro receiving stitches prior to him having to under some major dental work to replace the teeth he lost.
