Believe it or not, despite the word wrestling being right there in the company's name, what happens between the ropes in WWE is not all about the wrestling. What happens on WWE's programming every week is so much more than just wrestling. There's drama, elements of soap opera, the feel of a traveling circus, and also aspects of a stunt show. Another very big part of wrestling is the show and the appearance of the performers. That's why Superstars have such grand entrances and impressive costumes. However, the live element of WWE coupled with the extravagant look of some wrestlers can lead to slip-ups, unforeseen wardrobe malfunctions that can be pretty embarrassing. WWE would like us to forget them, but here are some that we refuse to let slip from our memories.
5. AJ Lee Lifts Her Shirt
Although AJ Lee had a terrific run in WWE, her timing couldn't have been worse. The three-time Divas' Champion did so much to propel women's wrestling in WWE, then left the company right before she had the opportunity to reap all the rewards. Lee is the perfect blend in-ring ability, mic skill, and physical attractiveness. She managed to make a name for herself in WWE and reach the highest heights that she could without flashing flesh or stooping to the lows of bra and panties matches. With that being said, there was one occasion where we inadvertently got a glimpse of Lee's undies. Mrs. CM Punk got her t-shirt stuck which resulted in the in-house crowd plus fans at home getting to see a lot more of AJ than they had bargained for.
4. The Phenomenal Bum
In the main event of TLC 2016, AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship against The Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose. As is almost always the case with The Phenomenal One, it was a terrific match and one that Styles won, elongating his title reign at the time. What Styles likely didn't realize at the time was that for the majority of the match most of the WWE Universe was fixated on his bottom. Many probably didn't want to be—no offense Styles—but when there's a little pink circle among a sea of blue, it's hard not to look at it. Luckily for us and Styles, the hole wasn't bigger or anywhere on his body that would have been more revealing.
3. Nikki's Nip Slip
The Bella Twins have taken the wrestling and entertainment worlds by storm. Since rising to prominence through one of WWE's Diva Searches, the sisters have gone on to become staples of the women's division. Despite the two of them being identical twins, there are subtle differences between the two. Well, let's not beat around the bush, there are two rather prominent differences between Nikki and Brie, the former's enhanced assets. The former Divas' Champion wears such skimpy ring gear that it's surprising said assets don't just pop out. Well, one time one of them did. Nikki was knocked to the floor outside the ring and when the camera zoomed in on her it became clear that one of Bella's nipples was ever so slightly on show.
2. Stephanie's Nip Slip
Don't worry Nikki, when it comes to a worldwide audience accidentally seeing your bare boob live on television, you're in good company. Years before that mishap ever happened to Bella, Stephanie McMahon was scrambling to stop people spotting an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction outside the ring. The boss's daughter was involved in an angle with her real-life husband Triple H and at the time, she sided with Chris Jericho to go against The Game. Her loving husband had her in a pedigree position on the announce table and while doing so, her breast fell out of her top. Stephanie managed to pop it back in but naturally, a fair few fans had already noticed the malfunction.
1. The Undertaker Goes Up In Flames
The Undertaker's career has always gone hand in hand with fire. He and his on-screen brother Kane competed in an inferno match where the ring was surrounded by fire. He even once burst out of a casket that was aflame while he was inside it. Shockingly, neither of those times resulted in The Deadman getting hurt. When he made his way to the ring for an Elimination Chamber match in 2010, Taker wasn't so lucky. The elaborate pyro during his entrance got a little too heated and actually set The Phenom on fire. Taker had to ditch his signature trench coat and actually suffered some pretty nasty burns. Ever the professional, however, he still competed in the match and apparently while he was locked in his chamber pod could be seen pouring water on himself where he had been burned.
