Although WCW didn't actively last in the wrestling business for very long, they still made a lasting imprint as a major competition of WWE and even surpassed the latter during the Monday Night Wars. The now-defunct company had several colossal stars of the business who made it a big wrestling promotion.

WCW had many notable pay-per-views. While Starrcade was their signature annual PPV, there were other big events such as Halloween Havoc, Bash at the Beach, Mayhem, and many more. Since the company was stacked with some good wrestlers, their pay-per-views had some great matches. On the other hand, awful matches weren't uncommon either.

9 Greed (2001)

WCW GREED 2001

Greed was the final pay-per-view of WCW, which was held in March 2001. As the company was struggling to get ratings back then, the show didn't feature many big names, except for some rising stars of the industry.

There were 10 matches during that event, and most of them were very ordinary. The sixth match of the PPV, which was for the WCW World Tag Team Titles, was a horrible match that didn't even last one minute. The Natural Born Thrillers and Totally Buffed failed to deliver in that match. But the best match of the event was in the main event. It was a Falls Count Anywhere match between then the WCW Heavyweight Champion, Scott Steiner, and Diamond Dallas Page. Steiner showed domination and retained the belt by technical submission.

8 New Blood Rising (2000)

New Blood Rising 2000

New Blood Rising, which was the final edition of the pay-per-view in 2000, was a good show despite WCW losing its biggest star, Hulk Hogan. Although the show had 11 matches, only a handful of them was praise-worthy.

With an intense build-up, the triple threat match between Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, and Goldberg was awe-inspiring. The three legends tried overpowering each other, but Nash pinned Steiner at the end. On the other hand, the match between Sting and The Demon was certainly the most disappointing match of the night that lasted only 52 seconds.

7 Halloween Havoc (1998)

WCW Halloween Havoc 1998

1998 was certainly the best year of WCW because Nitro not only drew its highest ratings ever but also had a star-studded roster. The 1998 Halloween Havoc PPV featured some dream matches.

The worst match was the event was the WrestleMania VI rematch between Hulk Hogan and The Warrior (Ultimate Warrior). Unfortunately, the two aged superstars were monotonous, and it was nowhere close to their previous classic. Furthermore, the finishing made it even worse.

Perhaps the greatest match in Goldberg's career took place in this event against Diamond Dallas Page, making it one of the most memorable matches in WCW. Goldberg successfully defended his world title against DDP. However, many pay-per-view carriers cut out before the end of the match. The WCW United States Heavyweight Championship match between Sting and Bret Hart was good too, but it was nothing exceptional.

6 Mayhem (2000)

Mayhem 2000

2000 was the last full year of WCW. Consequently, the company struggled to deliver quality PPVs. Mayhem in that year was another pay-per-view, which had as many as 12 matches, but only one stood out.

Out of all the matches, the match between Lex Luger and Goldberg was the most terrible one. Luger was nowhere close to his best and failed to keep up with Goldberg. Like conventional Goldberg matches, it was a short bout, as Luger tried evading Goldberg most of the time. Nonetheless, the steel cage battle between Booker T and Scott Steiner was amazing. There was the use of steel chairs by both men. Scott Steiner won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship after Booker T became unconscious in a Steiner Recliner.

5 Fall Brawl (2000)

Fall Brawl 2000

Fall Brawl 2000 consisted of 10 matches. The most terrible match of the event was certainly the Scaffold match between Shane Douglas & Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman & Madusa. Torrie was visibly scared of the height, and she crawled throughout the match. After a low blow from Torrie, Billy was thrown off the scaffold for the win.

The pay-per-view hosted a No Disqualification match between two titans, Goldberg and Scott Steiner. It was a hard-hitting bout, and with outside interferences, Goldberg surrendered to the Steiner Recliner.

4 Beach Blast (1993)

Beach Blast 1993

Beach Blast, which was later renamed Bash at the Beach, was held in 1993. In all honesty, the show had some decent matches, but the Iron Man match between Dustin Rhodes and "Ravishing" Rick Rude stood out the most. It was an impressive match that lasted half an hour but finished in a draw.

The worst match of the night was between Maxx Payne and Johnny B Badd. Even though the latter was a good wrestler, the match lacked chemistry and lasted just a few minutes.

3 Souled Out (2000)

WCW Souled Out 2000

Souled Out was another pay-per-view of WCW's final year that was overflowed with multiple ordinary matches, and WCW prioritized quantity over quality. While most of the matches were disappointing, the main event bout certainly stole the show.

With Arn Anderson as the guest referee, Sid Vicious and Chris Benoit crossed paths for the WCW World Title. Benoit caught Sid in many submissions, and The Crossface secured his first WCW World Championship, making it a historic match in Benoit's career. The Catch-as-Catch Can match between Billy Kidman and Dean Malenko was a match to forget from the night, as the referee controversially announced Kidman the winner within two and half minutes.

2 Mayhem (1999)

WCW Mayhem 1999

The 1999 edition of Mayhem hosted a dream match between Bret Hart and Chris Benoit, who were regarded as the two greatest technical wrestlers of that era. This battle was in the tournament finals for the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The match had many interferences, but it didn't stop them from having an incredible match. Bret Hart countered Benoit's Crossface into a Sharpshooter to win the match, and the battle continued for over 17 minutes.

The Inter-gender match between David Flair and Kimberly Page was truly mayhem and shouldn't have taken place on a pay-per-view. The match ended up in a No Contest.

1 Bash At The Beach (2000)

Bash At The Beach 2000

The Bash at the Beach event in 2000 was WCW's death rattle because it saw the infamous departure of Hulk Hogan from the company. With eleven matches on the card, most of those bouts were poor.

The most terrible match of the event was the WCW World Heavyweight Championship match between Hollywood Hogan and Jeff Jarrett which was barely a match, as the latter laid down to get pinned. But the main event match between Jeff Jarrett and Booker T was great, and the latter was crowned the new champion.
