As we are already used to, sports are like battles. Football players from rival teams don’t like each other and neither do the fans. It is common in every sport to have certain rivalries between people, right? When it comes to wrestling, it is so intense that when you see two people performing, you would guess that they actually hate each other and would never even say hello to one another on the street.

It’s true that some of the time the scenario applies, but not always. We present you with ten interesting friendships you would not expect to be happening in real life from WCW-WWE players.

10 Braun Strowman And Drake Maverick

This one is not only authentic, but extremely peculiar, especially when you consider how different they are, and how they have chosen different career paths. This interesting friendship shows us that no matter how you look or what you do, you can still bond with somebody that is far different than you are.

These two are very close, especially on social media, where we can see a lot of interaction between them. The cherry on top is that Braun Strowman was one of the groomsmen at Drake Maverick’s wedding – so what else could prove that this friendship is one of a kind?

9 Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker

People forget that wrestlers are just playing a character in the ring so things that are happening are not truly real and authentic. Well, Brock Lesnar is the epitome of the proof because he is an incredible performer that definitely makes you feel like he’s displaying raw feelings of hatred while in the ring with another wrestler. Well, surprisingly, he is friends in real life with a lot of WWE colleagues. For instance, The Undertaker is one of his buddies, even though it doesn’t seem possible, hence the ongoing fights they have had over the years that keep up the appearance that they don’t like each other.

8 Bayley and Carmella

This friendship was there early on and it may not count as being as unexpected as the rest of them, but we still feel like it’s worth mentioning. Carmella and Bayley have known each other since NXT but after that, they chose very different paths in the world of wrestling. Either way, when either of them loses a championship or is defeated, they have each other's back. It’s a difficult field they are in, and perceived competition between them could cause problems. However, Carmella said that from the world of wrestling, Bayley is her best friend and that they continue to talk every single day even though they have very different and busy schedules.

7 Ric Flair and Dolph Ziggler

These two, even though it is one unexpected friendship, have been friends for quite a while, supporting each other through their bad times and being happy for one another in their good ones. When Ric Flair, the WWE Hall of Famer, was facing some health issues, he got full support from Ziggler. Needless to say, Flair appreciates Ziggler’s work and always mentions him when the chance arises in interviews. It is good to see how honest friendships are built with constant support and care for each other even though in the ring they are showing a different side of their personality. These two have fought against each other in the ring and it did not seem like they were being very friendly.

6 Kevin Nash and The Undertaker

In the ring, they never seem to be friends as each time they were quite brutal, as well as seeming very personal. What is good to know and surprising is that they actually are on good terms in real life. Their friendship started somewhere in 1996 when they first had a big match at WrestleMania.

They were feuding at the time, but it was the beginning of a cordial friendship – they are not necessarily the best friends as many of the ones mentioned above are, but they are worthy of this list because they have known each other for so long, had their ups and downs throughout their careers, but still keep the friendship alive.

5 Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan

These two have a great history in the WCW world. Not only have they met in the ring plenty of times, but they also did business together plenty of times so we can say that they have an oddly connected friendship. For instance, they were involved in politics and signed contracts with big sums of money. Interesting, huh? Even though an inflammatory video of Hulk Hogan surfaced in 2007 causing him to be removed from the WWE Hall of Fame. However, after a successful defamation lawsuit, Hogan was reinstated to the Hall and to the WWE. Moreover, we are quite intrigued by their friendship and we are curious to see how things evolve.

4 Mike Rome & Alexa Bliss

Mike Rome and Alexa Bliss

This is quite an interesting friendship, with it being between a girl and a guy, because nobody saw it coming. A lot of rumors showed up that they were romantically involved, but all they said was that they are very good friends. And social media is proving it! A lot of pictures of them in different locations shows them traveling and being humorous with each other. It is more expected for women in the WWE to be friends with women and the same goes for men, but this one is one of a kind because it appears that they love the same things – wrestling and Disney!

3 Randy Orton & Kurt Angle

Surprisingly or not, these guys’ friendship is strong and it has been like this for years. Even though they’re known to have had certain ups and downs throughout the years it is still quite remarkable how they have so much respect for each other and are still on cordial terms. Another interesting thing that shows how their bond works – their significant others sit together at various wrestling events so if that is not telling you they’re going to be lifetime friends, I don’t know what else can. With the SOs sitting together it only follows that the men will stay friendly.

2 AJ Styles & Charlotte Flair

Here is another male/female friendship that seems unusual. We know that the wrestling industry is known for creating a lot of feuds between players. Most people that wrestle in the ring might not be friends in real life. But this is not the case for two performers that have developed an outstanding bond. AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair are good friends due to their on-going connection. AJ was a friend of Flair’s dad from back in the day in wrestling and they are very fun and always poking fun at each other. So, familiarity breeds contempt is not the case here.

1 Randy Orton and John Cena

We know, we cannot truly believe it either. If you are a fan of WWE for a long time you are very familiar with these two and with their on-going friendship. The thing is that in 2007 they had a match in the ring and people truly thought they are rivals. Truth is, they started their careers around the same time so they have been friends for as long, even though most of the time they had to play against each other. They have had incredible matches throughout their careers and never let fame or the desire of winning stay between them.
