Former WWE Superstar Ryback recently appeared on an episode of Busted Open radio. He talked about lots of things during the show, but one interesting thing that came out of the interview is an unorthodox angle he pitched to Vince McMahon that would have led to a Ryback/Lesnar match at WrestleMania. So, the angle goes like this:
Ryback's idea had him leaving the WWE to go back to his home town of Las Vegas to join an MMA fight camp. Ryback would have stayed in the fight camp full-time for six months so that everyone would believe that he actually had left the WWE in order to train for an MMA debut. However, instead of having an MMA fight, he would then, in a big surprise, return to the WWE six months later and challenge Lesnar to a fight at WrestleMania.
According to Ryback, the idea "went over Vince's head" and he thought McMahon might be out of touch for not jumping on the idea.
What do you think? Was Vince out of touch or smart for not going with Ryback's idea which, he said, he had been advocating for nearly three years.
