With news of the eventual brand split between SmackDown and RAW, there is a lot of buzz in the WWE right now. A brand split means more air time for superstars, the possibility of a new championship and genuine competition between the two entities, hopefully resulting in better programming.

However, Stone Cold Steve Austin questioned the decision on his recent podcast, stating that he doesn't see the incredible depth the current WWE roster possesses.

"I'm quoting Vince from the SmackDown stuff. It says, 'WWE's flagship programs will both leverage the incredible depth of our talent roster, distinct storylines, and the unpredictable nature of live TV.' Okay, let's go back to the 'incredible depth' of the talent roster. I don't see 'incredible depth'. It is a lot of bodies, a lot of people, and talented people, but I don't think you can say your roster's necessarily deep."

The Rattlesnake also prefers having only one main champion as the prospect of him going from show to show would make both shows more enticing to watch. As for which show he thinks will fare better?

"SmackDown could become the hotter show just because it takes less time to watch it, and, man, you know everybody has attention deficit these days, so I don't know. To me, it could have the makings of making SmackDown the hotter, more popular show."
