On Tuesday, Shinsuke Nakamura used the platform that was SmackDown Live to make his announcement that the stipulation for his Money in the Bank match versus AJ Styles was going to be a Last Man Standing Match. It's the type of match that suggests the company will take the time to give these two in-ring greats an opportunity to finally show the WWE Universe what they can do when not trying to get over low blows and underhanded tricks.

But, what happens if that's not the case? What if WWE decides to ignore the fact that these two guys can go and make the match more about underhanded moves that in any other match would result in a disqualification. Some of that is ok and it lends to the dastardly new nature of Nakamura's character but too much will rob fans and these specific talents of an opportunity to shine.

If WWE doesn't let these two steal the show, here's what could happen.

Nakamura The Heel Is More Important Than Nakamura The Wrestler

via dailyddt.com

If WWE decides not to let these two have the match everyone knows they are capable of, it means the company has decided the focus of Nakamura moving forward should be on his development as a heel over showcasing his skill as a wrestler. Sure, there is room to do both, but it's a far cry from how he was pushed in NXT where he skyrocketed in popularity based on his theme song and tremendous matches with the likes of Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe.

I'm sure the idea when he was called up to the main roster was to make Nakamura a fan favorite who could put on five-star matches. If WWE uses this last man standing idea to put an exclamation point on Nakamura's low blows, WWE is giving up on great Nakamura matches and making room for dirtier ones.

AJ Styles Will Likely Lose The WWE Championship

If WWE chooses to focus on Nakamura the heel, there's a good bet AJ Styles loses the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank. A pure wrestling match meant to steal the show could see anyone win. A match that is meant to be about Nakamura being pure evil needs to end with him taking something he doesn't deserve.

If Nakamura wins the belt, it could set the stage for Styles, or someone like Styles (babyface qualities) to try and win it back.

Nakamura Is The New Face of Heels on The New "A" Show

Should Nakamura move on as the new WWE Champion and WWE focuses on him as a heel (which he is quite good at), they could be grooming him to be the main heel on SmackDown Live as WWE transitions into a new home on Fox.

Rumors are that SmackDown Live might become the "A" show and any big name show needs at least one top-level heel. That could be Nakamura and if so, that's a huge vote of confidence for the former fan-favorite.

Then fans can expect names like Daniel Bryan, Styles, and maybe a few names who come over from Raw to chase him for that title.

Fans Will Be Robbed

The final thought here is that if WWE doesn't allow these two to try and steal the show at Money in the Bank with a long, very technically sound and five-star quality match, fans in the WWE Universe will have been robbed of a true dream match this could have been.

It's great WWE is doing something useful with Nakamura and Styles is the perfect dance partner but at the end of the day, fans want to see these two in a 45-minute classic. It would be a shame if that doesn't happen.
