What should and shouldn't be included on the WrestleMania DVD each year is often hotly debated and now we know what will miss out this time around.

The introduction of the WWE Network a few years ago truly changed the way the promotion works more than anything that has come before. For the extremely reasonable price of $9.99 a month you can basically have access to anything and everything WWE has ever created. Plus all of their pay per views which made for an awful lot of shows in 2017.

The way we consume WWE's product is naturally entirely different. Even though they are still referred to as PPVs that is not technically what the shows are any longer. A more accurate title for the likes of Royal Rumble, Backlash and everything else would be network specials, and they may become more commonly known as that in the near future.

Despite the fact that you can rewatch a WWE PPV on the network as soon as the show is over all of the events are still released on DVD. Clearly some fans still enjoy physically owning a WWE event and before you know it the WrestleMania 34 DVD will be hitting our shelves. WrestleMania weekend is so long though that not everything can make the cut, so what was left off the DVD this year?

Last year the Cruiserweight Championship match between Neville and Austin Aries was controversially not included. There will be no WrestleMania matches missing this time though, clearly WWE learned their lesson. Instead the Hall Of Fame ceremony will not be a part of the boxset for the first time since 2005, as reported by Wrestling DVD Network. Due to the HOF running for four and a half hours the much shorter, and frankly more entertaining, Raw After WrestleMania will be taking its place.

If something had to go from WrestleMania weekend then it makes sense that it be the HOF ceremony. Unless there is a particularly memorable induction then it doesn't tend to be the kind of thing that fans want to watch more than once. The Raw After WrestleMania on the other hand that is a show we would not mind watching again. If you want to get your hands on the WrestleMania 34 DVD then it will be released in the US on May 15th, Australia May 23rd, and the UK and Europe on June 4th.
