It was recently revealed that Ronda Rousey would be challenging Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship at Money in the Bank. It wasn't a match WWE assigned or a bout that came as a result of Rousey becoming the No. 1 contender. It was a match Nia Jax actually asked for and Rousey accepted. An announcement that surprised more than a few people, Jax felt the need to answer why she challenged Rousey.

In a tweet she sent out on Monday, she explained, "If I'm going to be the best #Raw Women's Champion, I want to square off against the best. Let's see how Rowdy @RondaRousey can get."

It's an interesting take considering, that while Rousey is viewed as the Baddest Woman on the Planet, she's only one a single match in WWE since her arrival and it was a tag match at WrestleMania. By typical WWE challenger standards, she's not close to the best and has yet to prove she deserves a shot at the title. It's also an interesting, yet likely unintentional shot at the rest of the female competitors on Raw.

Of course, Rousey is going to accept the challenge. If given an opportunity to fight for the belt, any one of the many women in WWE would take it. But, that Jax felt Rousey was the best, versus simply saying she was a fighting champion or that she would take on anyone and to have Rousey challenge is WWE trying to offer a championship match to Rousey without it appearing like she's cutting in line.

As great as Jax would be as a champion, it appears WWE is going to go with a short title reign as Rousey will likely take the title and head to SummerSlam as champion. Unless, of course, WWE offers a swerve to get Rousey into a feud with someone who cost her the belt.
